WhatsApp Business Audit Logs in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

WhatsApp Audit Logs record who changed each WhatsApp asset (phone numbers, templates, flows, WABAs), what they did, and when. Open Settings > Audit Logs in the sub-account and filter by the WhatsApp module. Logs are retained for 60 days.

WhatsApp Audit Logs give a sub-account a clear record of every change made to its WhatsApp Business setup. Each entry captures who acted, what they did, when it happened, and which WhatsApp asset was affected.

  • Accountability: tie WhatsApp changes back to specific team members.
  • Faster troubleshooting: use the timeline to find when something broke.
  • Operational control: keep a clean record of every WhatsApp configuration change.

How to access the logs

  1. Open the sub-account where WhatsApp is configured.
  2. Go to Settings > Audit Logs.
  3. Use the Module filter to narrow to WhatsApp activity.
  4. Click any row to open the details drawer with user, action, time, and entity.

Common investigation patterns

A WhatsApp phone number disappeared or changed

Filter for Phone Number Added, Default Phone Number Updated, or WABA Deleted/Deactivated events.

Templates stopped sending or changed unexpectedly

Look for Template Created, Updated, or Deleted events to find the user and timestamp.

Flows behave differently than before

Filter for Flow Created, Published, Deprecated, or Deleted to spot recent configuration changes.

Scope and retention

  • WhatsApp Audit Logs are recorded at the sub-account level only.
  • Entries are retained for 60 days, then automatically removed in line with other Sparkforge audit logs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are WhatsApp Audit Logs available in every sub-account?
Yes. Open the sub-account where WhatsApp is configured and go to Settings > Audit Logs. Each sub-account has its own log.
I do not see WhatsApp events. What should I check?
Confirm you are inside the right sub-account, expand the date range, and clear restrictive filters like a specific user or entity.
How long are WhatsApp audit events retained?
Audit log entries are kept for 60 days, then removed automatically. Plan reviews and exports around that window for ongoing investigations.
Can I get alerts when certain WhatsApp events happen?
Built-in alerts are not available today. Schedule manual log reviews during launches or critical projects to catch changes early.
Who can view the Audit Logs?
Visibility depends on sub-account roles and permissions. If Settings > Audit Logs is not accessible, contact a sub-account admin to grant access.
