How to Add a WhatsApp Chat Widget in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Connect a WhatsApp number in Settings, then create a WhatsApp Chat widget under Sites > Chat Widget. Visitors complete a short form and are handed off to WhatsApp with a message routed to your number.

The WhatsApp chat widget routes website visitors into a WhatsApp thread with your business. Before you start, make sure WhatsApp is enabled and a phone number is connected under Settings > WhatsApp.

Enable the WhatsApp chat widget

  1. Go to Sites > Chat Widget.
  2. In the chat widget, set Chat Type to WhatsApp Chat. If no WhatsApp number is configured, Sparkforge redirects you to settings to add one.
  3. Customize the widget window — text, colors, branding, and the email or phone form. WhatsApp Chat defaults to WhatsApp green; you can override the colors.
  4. Select the WhatsApp number that will receive inbound messages from the widget.
  5. Click Save.

How it works

  1. Embed the widget on a Sparkforge funnel or website by toggling it on in funnel/website settings, or paste the code into the header of an external landing page.
  2. The widget renders on page load.
  3. When a visitor submits the form, they're redirected to the WhatsApp web app with a pre-filled message addressed to your selected number.
  4. The thread shows up in Conversations, where you can reply.
