How to Add or Remove Contact Followers in Sparkforge Workflows

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Two workflow actions — Add Contact Follower and Remove Contact Follower — let Sparkforge update a contact's followers automatically. Remove Contact Follower has a toggle to clear every follower at once.

Followers on a contact get notified of activity on that record. Two workflow actions let you manage them automatically: add specific users when a contact qualifies, remove them when ownership changes.

Step 1: Add the Workflow Action

In the workflow editor, add an action from the Contact category and choose Add Contact Follower or Remove Contact Follower.

Step 2: Add Followers Automatically

Use Add Contact Follower to attach one or more users as followers when the workflow fires — for example, assign a sales rep and their manager when a new lead enters a high-value pipeline.

Step 3: Remove Followers

Use Remove Contact Follower to drop specific users from the contact. Toggle the remove all followers option to clear every follower in one move — handy when a contact moves to a different team or closes out.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the Add/Remove Contact Follower actions live?
Inside the workflow editor, under the Contact action category. Add them like any other workflow step.
Can I remove every follower from a contact in one action?
Yes. The Remove Contact Follower action has a toggle to remove all followers at once instead of selecting users individually.
What does a follower see on a contact?
Followers receive notifications about activity on the contact record — useful for keeping managers, account owners, or backup reps in the loop.
Can I add multiple followers in a single workflow step?
Yes. Add Contact Follower accepts multiple users in one action, so a workflow can assign a rep and manager simultaneously.
