Sync Conversation Attachments to Contact Documents in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

You can now sync attachments from Email, SMS, Instagram, and Facebook conversations to a contact's Document Management — either with the three-dot menu on a received message or by checking "Add to Documents" when sending.

What's new

Attachments from any supported conversation channel can now sync straight to the contact's Document Management — no manual download and re-upload.

How to sync attachments

Inbound messages

  1. Open the conversation containing the attachment.
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the message.
  3. Select Add to Documents.

Outbound messages

While composing an SMS or email with an attachment, check Add to Documents before sending. The file lands in the contact's record automatically.

Why route attachments to Documents

Document Management is the single source of truth for files tied to a contact. The section supports search, preview, and download. Centralizing attachments there keeps everything one click away instead of buried inside conversation history.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work for WhatsApp and SMS attachments?

Yes. The same three-dot menu approach applies to WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram, Facebook, and Email. Preview behavior may vary slightly by file type and channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which channels support attachment sync?
Email, SMS, Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp when properly integrated with your Sparkforge account.
Can I sync an attachment after the message has been sent?
Yes. Open the message, click the three-dot menu, and choose Add to Documents. It works on inbound and outbound messages alike.
Where do synced files appear?
In the Documents section of the contact record. From there you can search, preview, download, and manage them like any other contact document.
Are file previews always available?
Most common formats preview natively. Some types — depending on the source channel — may require download to view.
