Why Google Calendar Integration Breaks in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Google revokes Sparkforge's calendar access after password changes, permission revocations, or OAuth token expiry. Delete the broken integration in Calendar Settings, re-add it, and run a test booking to confirm sync resumes.

What breaks the Google Calendar integration

When Sparkforge stops syncing with Google Calendar, the cause is almost always one of these:

  • The user changed their Google account password.
  • Sparkforge permissions were revoked in Google account settings.
  • Google flagged suspicious activity and blocked the connection.
  • OAuth tokens expired or were invalidated.

The visible symptom is the same: new Sparkforge appointments stop appearing on the Google calendar.

Fix it: re-authenticate the integration

Step 1: Remove the broken connection

  1. From the subaccount, open Settings.
  2. Select My Profile and scroll to Calendar Settings.
  3. Click the delete icon next to the connected Google account.
  4. Check the acknowledgement box and confirm.

Step 2: Reconnect Google

  1. Back in My Profile → Calendar Settings, click + Add New.
  2. Sign in to Google and grant Sparkforge calendar access.

Step 3: Test the sync

Book a test appointment in Sparkforge and confirm it appears on the Google calendar within a minute. If it doesn't, contact support.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know my Google Calendar integration broke?
New Sparkforge appointments stop appearing in Google Calendar, or you see a disconnected status in the integration settings.
Do I need to reconnect after changing my Google password?
Yes. A password change automatically revokes third-party OAuth grants, including Sparkforge. You'll need to re-authorize the connection.
Will I lose existing appointments if the calendar disconnects?
No. Appointments stay in Sparkforge. Once you reconnect, future bookings sync — historical events remain on whichever side they were created.
Can I sync more than one Google calendar?
You can pick one primary Google calendar per user for sync. Switch the selected calendar from the calendar configuration screen if needed.
