How to Troubleshoot Sparkforge Calendars from the Header

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Sparkforge Calendar Troubleshooting Tool flags configuration problems blocking bookings. Open it from the wrench icon or the calendar header, hover an unavailable slot, and read the status code to fix the issue fast.

When a Sparkforge calendar isn't accepting bookings, the Troubleshooting Tool tells you why. It checks availability, user sync, conflicts, and capacity, then surfaces a status code on each blocked slot.

What it covers

  • Availability gaps and missing working hours.
  • Google or Outlook sync failures.
  • Unassigned users on team or round-robin calendars.
  • Buffer, day-limit, slot-max, and look-busy rules.
  • Resource and seat constraints.

Open the tool

From Calendar Settings

  1. Go to Settings > Calendars.
  2. Click Calendar Settings at the top.
  3. Find the calendar and click the wrench icon next to it.

From the calendar header

  1. Open Settings > Calendars > [Your Calendar].
  2. Click Troubleshoot Calendar in the top-right header to launch diagnostics without leaving the editor.

Diagnose a slot

  1. Pick a date on the grid.
  2. Hover an unavailable slot to see the reason in a tooltip.

Common fixes

Check integration status

  1. Open Calendar Settings > Connections.
  2. Confirm Google or Outlook shows Connected.
  3. Reconnect if needed and pick the right calendar.

Clean up deleted calendar errors

If a connected Google or Outlook calendar was deleted at the provider, Sparkforge shows an error banner.

  1. Open Settings > Calendars > Connections.
  2. Click Fix This.
  3. Review the listed deleted calendars and where they're connected.
  4. Click Remove Deleted Calendars to clear them in one shot.
  5. Reconnect or pick a valid calendar.

Fix user availability

  1. Go to Calendars > Calendar Settings.
  2. Edit the calendar assigned to the affected user.
  3. Open the Availability tab.
  4. Add or update working hours for the relevant days.

Resolve double bookings

Double bookings usually come from overlapping availability or multiple users on one calendar. Use the Troubleshooting Tool to spot the conflict, then split users into separate calendars or tighten availability windows.

Check user permissions

  1. Open Settings > My Staff.
  2. Pick the staff member and click Edit > Calendar Configuration.
  3. Open Calendar and confirm all required Google or Outlook permission scopes are granted.

Important behavior

The tool first generates every potential slot from your availability and meeting interval, then reports each one's state. If availability is 10 AM–12 PM and 6 PM–8 PM with a 60-minute interval, you'll see exactly four slots and their status. Days with no availability show no slots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to enable the Troubleshooting Tool?
No. It's built into Sparkforge and available under Calendar Settings on every calendar.
Why does an entire day show no availability?
Usually one of three reasons: no user assigned to the calendar, no availability set, or the underlying Google or Outlook sync is disconnected.
Can I troubleshoot round-robin and team calendars?
Yes. The tool covers group, round-robin, and team calendars and shows which user is causing the conflict.
Will the tool show workflow or automation errors?
No. It only diagnoses calendar configuration issues. Workflow errors appear in the workflow execution log.
Whose timezone is shown in the diagnostics?
The logged-in user's timezone. The tool doesn't render the contact's local timezone view.
