Email Bounce Suspension in Sparkforge: Causes and Fixes
Sparkforge suspends email sending if hard bounce rates cross 5%. The third strike in seven days is permanent until Email Verification is enabled and lists are cleaned.
High hard bounce rates damage deliverability for everyone on the platform. Sparkforge monitors bounces and suspends sending when rates exceed industry-safe thresholds.
Bounce types
- Hard bounce: the address does not exist. Permanent failure.
- Soft bounce: temporary failure (mailbox full, server down).
What triggers suspension
Healthy bounce rate sits between 0–3%. Sparkforge enforces a graduated block system:
| Bounce rate | Action | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| 3% | Warning email | Immediate |
| 5% | Sending suspended | 12 hours (1st block) |
| 3% after 1st block | Critical warning | Immediate |
| 5% after 1st block | Sending suspended | 12 hours (2nd block) |
| 3% after 2nd block | Final warning | Immediate |
| 5% after 2nd block | Permanent suspension | Until manual review |
During a suspension, only email sending is blocked. Every other feature keeps working.
Permanent block error
Email sending is blocked due to a high bounce rate. Unblock email sending by enabling the Email Verification Service.
Enable Email Verification first. If sending stays blocked, contact Sparkforge support.
How to request a permanent unblock
- Open a support ticket with Sparkforge.
- Include your subaccount ID.
- Attach a screenshot or copy of the error.
- Submit for manual review.
Support reviews send history, bounce rate, complaint rate, and list acquisition methods. Approval depends on compliance with email best practices and is not guaranteed.
Prevent future suspensions
1. Enable Email Verification
Agency view → Sub-accounts → click the sub-account name → enable Re-verification for 90 days. Verified addresses get marked as invalid before they ever ship to a campaign.
2. Use a dedicated sending domain
Set up a dedicated sending domain (for example replies.yourcompany.com) and authenticate it with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
3. Match sender email to the domain
Send from name@yourcompany.com when the dedicated domain is replies.yourcompany.com. Mismatches hurt authentication.
4. Send in batches
Use Batch (Drip) scheduling on bulk sends to reduce traffic spikes and let providers throttle gracefully.
5. Use double opt-in
Add a consent checkbox on every form. Capture explicit permission before any email goes out.
6. Include unsubscribe links
Every campaign and template should include a working unsubscribe link to keep complaint rates down.
