How to Transfer a Domain from Sparkforge to Cloudflare

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Add the domain as a website to the destination Cloudflare account, send us the account ID, then approve the transfer from Manage Domains. Completion takes up to 24 hours after approval.

You can transfer a domain registered through Sparkforge into a different Cloudflare account. The process has two preparation steps on your side and one approval step after we kick off the transfer.

Before you start

You need an existing Cloudflare account where the domain will land, and admin access to it.

Step 1: Add the domain to the destination Cloudflare account

  1. Log in to the Cloudflare account you want the domain transferred to.
  2. Click + Add and select Connect a domain.
  3. Enter the domain name and click Continue.
  4. Pick the Free plan or a paid plan.
  5. Compare Cloudflare's scanned DNS records against your current DNS records. Add or remove records until they match.
  6. Turn proxy OFF for every record before clicking Continue to Activation.

Do not change nameservers at this step.

Step 2: Share your Cloudflare account ID

Grab the account ID from the URL of your Cloudflare dashboard — it's the alphanumeric value after /dash.cloudflare.com/. Send it to Sparkforge support so we can target the right account.

Example account ID: 0d2031c4bcda5980204101c44294740c

Step 3: Approve the transfer

Once we initiate the transfer from our end, you have up to 24 hours to approve it:

  1. Open Domain Registration > Manage Domains in the left navigation.
  2. Click Manage for the domain.
  3. Accept the transfer request.

The transfer completes within 24 hours after you approve. Status changes to Active under Manage Domains when it's done.

"Invalid Nameservers" status after transfer

The domain may briefly show Invalid Nameservers in your Cloudflare Account Home right after acceptance. This is expected and clears on its own within 24 hours. No action needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to change nameservers during the transfer?
No. Leave nameservers alone during steps 1 and 2. The transfer handles registrar-level ownership; DNS continues to resolve through whatever nameservers are already in place.
How long does the full transfer take?
Up to 24 hours after Sparkforge initiates it, plus up to another 24 hours after you approve from Manage Domains. Most transfers complete faster.
Why does my domain show 'Invalid Nameservers' after transfer?
This is a normal post-transfer state in Cloudflare. It resolves automatically within 24 hours. You don't need to do anything.
Can I transfer to any Cloudflare account?
Yes, as long as the destination account exists, you have admin access, and the domain has been added there as a website with matching DNS records.
What if my scanned DNS records don't match what I have today?
Manually add or remove records in the destination Cloudflare account until they match your current configuration before clicking Continue to Activation. Mismatches cause downtime after the transfer.
