How to Customize Storefront Text in Sparkforge Ecommerce
Sparkforge ecommerce stores expose a single Text Customization panel under each storefront element, letting you rewrite labels, headings, error messages, and section copy for localization or brand voice.
Text Customization in Sparkforge ecommerce stores consolidates every editable label, heading, and microcopy field on a storefront element into one panel. Use it to localize a store, match brand voice, or rewrite default copy on Product List, Product Detail, Upsell, and other storefront elements.
What Changed
Text fields used to live across the General and Advanced sections, with several fields not editable at all. They’re now consolidated under a single Text Customization section in the General settings of each element.
How to Customize Text on an Element
- Open the Store Builder and select the element you want to edit (Product List, Product Detail, Upsell, etc.).
- In the right-hand Settings panel, open the General tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and open the Text Customization section.
- Edit the text under each sub-section (Shipping Details, Payment Section, button labels, form labels, and so on).
- Save the changes and click Publish.
What You Can Customize
- Labels and headings on each storefront element
- Microcopy on shipping and payment sections
- Button text and form labels (previously under Button Options and Form Options)
- Error messages and empty-state text — even fields that don’t render in the builder preview
Notes
- Some text — like error messages or empty result states — doesn’t appear in the builder preview but is still editable from the panel.
- Existing text controls (Button Options, Form Options) moved into Text Customization. The legacy locations are gone.
- Stores that haven’t been edited continue to render with their existing copy. Customization is only required if you want to change something.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where did the old Button Options and Form Options sections go?
They were merged into the Text Customization section. Button labels and form labels now live there alongside the rest of the storefront text.
Can I edit text that doesn’t show in the builder preview?
Yes. Empty-state messages and error strings render only in the live store, but they’re editable from the Text Customization panel.
Do existing stores need a migration?
No. Stores keep working with their current copy. Open the Text Customization panel only when you want to change something.
Which elements support text customization?
All storefront elements, including Product List, Product Detail, Upsell, and the cart and checkout components.
