SSL Certificates for Dedicated Sparkforge Email Domains

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge auto-issues an SSL certificate when you verify a dedicated email domain. If status shows Pending or Unknown, reverify the domain to reissue.

SSL certificates encrypt the tracking, open, and click URLs in every email Sparkforge sends from your dedicated domain. Without a valid certificate, recipients see broken links or security warnings, sender reputation drops, and engagement falls.

Sparkforge issues an SSL certificate automatically when you add and verify a dedicated email domain. There are three possible statuses:

  • SSL Issued — Certificate is active. No action needed.
  • SSL Pending — Certificate is being generated. Reverify if it stays here.
  • SSL Unknown — Certificate has not been generated. Reverify the domain.

Why the certificate matters

Without it, recipients hit "This site can't provide a secure connection" errors when clicking email links. That kills click-through, hurts deliverability, and trains your audience to ignore your sends.

Where to find SSL status

  1. Open Settings → Email Services.
  2. Click Dedicated Domain And IP on the right.
  3. The domain management screen shows the SSL status for each verified domain.

Set up or fix an SSL certificate

Step 1: Verify the domain

  1. Open Settings → Email Services → Dedicated Domain And IP.
  2. Click Verify Now next to your domain.
  3. Confirm DNS records (SPF, DKIM, CNAME, tracking) are present at your registrar. Common providers: GoDaddy, Google Domains, Hostgator, Hover, Namecheap, Squarespace, AWS, Cloudflare, Bluehost, Hostinger, InMotion, Hostwinds.
  4. Click Verify domain. Sparkforge issues or reissues the SSL certificate.

Step 2: Check status

  • SSL Issued: Done.
  • SSL Pending: Wait a few minutes, then reverify.
  • SSL Unknown: Reverify the domain. If status doesn't change, recheck DNS records and retry.

Frequently Asked Questions

My email link URL is broken. What do I do?
Go to your domain settings in Email Services, click Verify Now, and reverify the domain. This reissues the SSL certificate and fixes the broken link.
What does "This site can't provide a secure connection" mean?
The SSL certificate for your sending domain is not properly issued. Reverify the domain to trigger a new certificate issuance.
How long does SSL Pending take to resolve?
Usually a few minutes once DNS records are correct. If it stays Pending more than 15 minutes, reverify the domain to retrigger generation.
Do I need a dedicated domain to send email from Sparkforge?
You can send on the shared infrastructure without one, but a dedicated domain gives you better deliverability, branded tracking links, and the SSL certificate that comes with it.
