Sparkforge Listings Self-Service Onboarding Setup

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Listings self-service onboarding widget is an in-app wizard that walks first-time users through the required setup — entity form, business hours, Google and Facebook connections, services, keywords, and social URLs — until every entity is complete.

Listings self-service onboarding is an in-app wizard that lives on the Listings dashboard until every entity in your sub-account finishes the required setup. It points you at the highest-priority entities, tracks progress, and lets you skip and return without losing state.

What the widget covers

Each entity in Listings represents a business location or brand profile. The wizard exists to make sure that profile is complete and accurate before Sparkforge syncs it to publishers like Google Business Profile, Facebook, and Yext directories.

Note: Listings self-service onboarding requires an active paid Listings subscription on the sub-account.

Key behaviors

  • Always visible on the Listings dashboard until required steps are complete.
  • Smart prioritization — entities with active subscriptions and incomplete forms float to the top.
  • Progress tracking — checkmarks and percent complete show what's left.
  • Entity-view integration — guidance also appears inside each entity.
  • Skip and resume — leave a step and come back later.
  • Auto-dismiss — when every entity is complete, the widget disappears.

Find the widget and run setup

  1. Log in to your Sparkforge sub-account.
  2. Go to Reputation > Listings.
  3. Find the Self Service Onboarding widget at the top of the dashboard.
  4. Click Start Setup and work through the steps in any order: Verify and submit business details, add business hours, connect Google and Facebook, add business services and keywords, add social media URLs.
  5. Repeat for each incomplete entity.

Submit the entity form

This step creates the business record Listings publishes from. Accuracy here prevents publisher rejections later.

You'll provide:

  • Legal business name and display name
  • Address, phone, website
  • Primary category (and optional additional categories)
  • Profile description

Add business hours

Open the widget and choose Add Business Hours. Enter regular hours and optional special or holiday hours. Listings supports split hours on both Yext and Uberall engines.

Connect Google and Facebook

Connecting Google Business Profile (GBP) and Facebook lets Listings sync location data to your two most visible profiles.

Prerequisites:

  • GBP Owner or Admin access for the location.
  • Facebook Page Admin access for the Page.
  • Browser pop-ups enabled for OAuth.

Steps:

  1. Click Connect Google and complete the OAuth prompt with the right Google account.
  2. Click Connect Facebook and approve permissions for the intended Page.
  3. Verify the Connected status badge appears for each.

Add services and keywords

Pick Add Business Services & Keywords in the widget. Enter your primary services and keywords that describe what you offer. This data improves search relevance across compatible publishers.

Add social media URLs

Pick Add Social Media URLs. Paste full URLs for the official profiles you want linked — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X. Save to update the widget.

Roles and prerequisites

  • Listings access — users need permission to view and edit Listings.
  • GBP — Owner or Admin access for each connected profile.
  • Facebook — Admin access for each Page.
  • Country availability — feature availability depends on the sub-account's country.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the onboarding widget go away?
It disappears automatically once every entity in the sub-account has completed all required steps. Until then it stays pinned to the top of the Listings dashboard.
Can I skip a step and come back later?
Yes. Use the Skip option to defer a step without losing your overall progress. The widget tracks each entity's status and resumes where you left off.
Do I need a paid plan to use self-service onboarding?
Yes. The onboarding widget is part of the paid Listings feature. The sub-account needs an active Listings subscription for the wizard to appear.
What permissions do I need to connect Google and Facebook?
Owner or Admin access on the Google Business Profile location, and Admin access on the Facebook Page. Browser pop-ups must be enabled for the OAuth flow.
Does Listings support split business hours?
Yes. Both the Yext and Uberall publisher engines support split hours, so you can model lunch breaks or other mid-day closures accurately.
