Opportunity Forecasting in Sparkforge: Setup and Use

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Opportunity Forecasting adds a Forecast tab to Sparkforge Opportunities with weighted revenue, expected close dates, risk classification, and timeline views by week, month, or quarter. Enable it in Labs.

Opportunity Forecasting moves teams beyond simple pipeline tracking into more accurate revenue planning. The Forecast tab inside Opportunities shows expected revenue, deal timing, risk, and forecast quality — built on the existing Opportunities and Pipelines experience.

What it does

Opportunity Forecasting is a forecasting workspace inside Opportunities that estimates revenue from deal value, expected timing, and probability. The Forecast tab covers summary metrics, a visual timeline, drilldowns to deals, and data hygiene insights to improve forecast quality. Enable it through Labs.

Key capabilities:

  • Forecast tab inside Opportunities.
  • Summary dashboard for revenue visibility.
  • Forecast Timeline for time-based pipeline tracking.
  • Weighted revenue forecasting.
  • Expected Close Date support.
  • Risk classification for deals.
  • Data hygiene insights.
  • Week, Month, and Quarter time views.
  • Advanced filtering and grouping.
  • Drilldowns to inspect and update opportunities.

What you get

  • Better revenue visibility — max potential, expected, and won revenue in one place.
  • More realistic forecasts via weighted values, not flat pipeline totals.
  • Cleaner pipeline by surfacing missing amounts, missing dates, and stale deals.
  • Faster decisions with timeline, filters, and drilldowns.
  • Risk awareness so slipping deals get attention earlier.
  • Less manual work — fewer external spreadsheets.

Forecast Summary view

The Summary view is a high-level dashboard of forecast performance. Click into any metric to inspect the deals behind it. Use it for quick reviews and pipeline check-ins before drilling deeper.

Forecast Timeline view

The Forecast Timeline shows when revenue is expected to land. Switch between Week, Month, and Quarter views to see distribution and pacing, and identify periods where deals may slip.

Weighted forecasting and Expected Revenue

Expected Revenue is the weighted forecast value in the Forecast tab. Weighting can use stage probability or manual probability overrides where applied. This avoids overestimating by treating every open deal as equally likely.

Expected Close Date

Forecast accuracy depends on timing. The Expected Close Date field places opportunities into the correct weekly, monthly, or quarterly forecast period. Keep it current to make the Timeline view useful.

Risk classification

Opportunities are flagged High, Medium, or Low risk based on delays and slippage. Custom risk settings let you define thresholds for slippage and overdue deals so the system reflects how your team works.
