How to Duplicate or Copy Pipelines in Sparkforge
Sparkforge lets users with Edit access duplicate a pipeline within the same sub-account, and lets Agency Admins copy a pipeline to one or more sub-accounts at once. Records, automations, and custom fields do not move with it.
Two related actions reuse pipeline structures in Sparkforge: Duplicate creates a copy inside the same sub-account, and Copy to sub-accounts sends a copy to one or more other sub-accounts. Each has different permissions and transfers slightly different things.
Duplicate vs Copy
| Action | Scope | Use when |
|---|---|---|
| Duplicate | Same sub-account | Test a variation, build a similar pipeline, or avoid rebuilding stages from scratch. |
| Copy to sub-accounts | One or more other sub-accounts | Standardize pipeline structures across client or location accounts. |
Permissions
- Duplicate pipeline: any user with Edit access to that pipeline.
- Copy to sub-accounts: Agency Admins only.
If you do not see one of these options, check your role and pipeline permissions.
What transfers, what does not
Duplicating within the same sub-account copies:
- Pipeline stages
- Pipeline permissions
- Colored smart tags
- Chart visibility settings
Copying to other sub-accounts copies:
- Pipeline stages
- Chart visibility settings
Neither action copies opportunity records, automations, reports, or custom fields. Cross-sub-account copy also does not move pipeline permissions or smart tag colors.
Duplicate a pipeline (same sub-account)
- Go to Opportunities -> Pipelines.
- Find the pipeline. Click the three-dot menu and choose Duplicate.
- Update the pipeline name. The default appends (copy).
- Set pipeline display colors.
- Modify pipeline stages - rearrange, rename, add or remove.
- Choose which stages appear in your default dashboard. Disabling all stages hides the pipeline from the dashboard.
- Click Duplicate.
The new pipeline appears in the list and is ready to use.
Copy a pipeline to other sub-accounts
- Go to Opportunities -> Pipelines.
- Find the pipeline, open the three-dot menu, and choose Copy to sub-accounts.
- Confirm or change the pipeline name.
- Select one or more destination sub-accounts.
- Click Copy.
The pipeline is created in each selected sub-account.
Best practices
- Rename duplicated pipelines immediately so they are easy to tell apart from the original.
- Use duplication to test variations before rolling out to other sub-accounts.
- Standardize the source pipeline before mass-copying.
- Plan to recreate automations, reports, and custom fields in the destination since they do not transfer.
