Pipeline Stage Colors and Navigation in Sparkforge Opportunities
Sparkforge lets you create and edit pipelines directly from the Opportunities dropdown and assign colors per stage that display as dots or background tints across Kanban, List, and record views.
Pipeline Stage Colors and inline pipeline editing live inside Opportunities. Skip the trip to Settings and adjust pipelines from the same dropdown you use to switch between them. Stage colors then carry through Kanban, List, and individual opportunity views so the whole team reads the pipeline the same way.
What you can do from Opportunities
- Create a pipeline with + Create Pipeline directly from the dropdown.
- Edit an existing pipeline through the three-dot menu next to its name.
- Assign a color to each stage and choose how that color displays.
Permissions still apply — users without pipeline edit access see the dropdown but not the edit options.
Color display options
- Default (no color): standard look, no added stage colors.
- Colored dot: small dot next to the stage label or opportunity card.
- Background tint: soft tint across the row or card for stronger visual segmentation.
Stage colors are configured at the pipeline level. Every user with access to a pipeline sees the same palette.
Where stage colors appear
- Kanban (Board) view: dots or tinted backgrounds on cards within each column.
- List view: stage indicators alongside opportunities in the table.
- Opportunity records: stage color carries into individual opportunity and contact details.
Set up pipeline navigation and stage colors
- Open Opportunities from the sub-account sidebar and switch to the Pipelines tab.
- Click + Create Pipeline top right, or click the three-dot menu next to an existing pipeline and choose Edit.
- Name the pipeline (e.g., "Sales Pipeline" or "Client Onboarding"). Toggle opportunity-level probability if you want each deal to carry its own probability instead of a stage-based default.
- Assign a Stage Color to each stage. Map colors to meaning — for example, green for won, red for risk, yellow for follow-up.
- Pick a display style: Default, Colored Dot, or Background Tint.
- Save. Communicate your color conventions so the team interprets them consistently.
Stage colors vs. Smart Tags
Stage colors describe where a deal sits in your pipeline. Smart Tags are rule-based labels that color opportunities based on conditions like value, age, or activity. Many teams use both: stage colors for process steps, Smart Tags for urgency or health.
