One Question at a Time displays a single survey question per screen, keeping respondents focused and improving completion rates. Enable it from Styles & Options inside the Survey Builder.

One Question at a Time is a Survey Builder display setting that shows one question per screen. The simpler layout keeps respondents focused and tends to improve completion rates.

What It Does

  • Each survey question renders on its own slide in the live form and the builder preview.
  • Respondents only see one prompt at a time.
  • The setting changes display only — your questions and logic stay intact.

How to Enable It

  1. Open the survey in the Survey Builder.
  2. Click Styles & Options in the upper-right corner.
  3. Under Survey Type, select One Question at a Time.

The builder preview updates immediately — each field shows on its own slide while you edit.

What to Watch For

If your survey uses conditional logic, switching layouts may change how some logic paths behave. Sparkforge surfaces a warning before the change is applied, so you can review affected branches first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this delete or modify questions?
No. The setting only changes how questions display. Your questions and field configurations are untouched.
Will it break my conditional logic?
Conditional logic may behave differently with one question per screen. Sparkforge shows a warning before applying the change so you can review.
Can I switch back?
Yes. Re-open Styles & Options and toggle the layout back any time.
Where do respondents see the difference?
In the live survey, each question appears on its own slide instead of stacked on a single page.
Does this affect mobile and desktop views?
Yes. The one-question-per-screen layout applies on both.
