Notion Integration in Sparkforge: Triggers and Actions
The native Notion integration lets Sparkforge workflows create, update, and read Notion pages, databases, and comments through OAuth — no Zapier required. Triggers poll Notion every five minutes; actions run on-demand from any workflow.
The Notion integration connects your Sparkforge workflows directly to Notion through OAuth. Push contact data into a database, generate proposal pages when deals advance, append meeting notes to a project page, or trigger a workflow when a Notion record changes — all without webhooks or third-party connectors.
Why Use the Native Integration
- Replaces Zapier or n8n hops for Notion-to-CRM sync.
- Sends form submissions, appointment outcomes, and pipeline changes into structured Notion databases.
- Auto-generates project wikis, proposals, and SOP pages on a workflow event.
- Two-way: Notion edits can fire a Sparkforge workflow, and Sparkforge can write back to Notion.
Triggers (Notion to Sparkforge)
| Trigger | Fires When |
|---|---|
| New Database Item | A new item is added to a Notion database |
| Updated Database Item | An existing database item is modified |
| Updated Page | A Notion page is updated |
Triggers run on a five-minute polling interval.
Actions (Sparkforge to Notion)
- Create, update, archive, or restore database items
- Create a page, add content, or retrieve a page with children
- Add or find comments on a page
- Find or create a database item by filter
- Retrieve database schema or block children
How to Connect Notion
- Open the Sparkforge workflow builder and search for any Notion action or trigger.
- Click Connect Now and complete the Notion OAuth flow, or go to Settings > Integrations and connect from there.
- Pick a trigger (for example, New Database Item), name it, and click Test Trigger so Sparkforge pulls metadata for downstream field mapping.
Common Workflow Patterns
Onboarding Form to Notion
Trigger: Form Submitted, filtered to your onboarding form. Actions: Create Database Item in your Client Onboarding DB, then Add Comment with a welcome note.
Appointment Outcomes to a Meeting Log
Trigger: Appointment Status Changed, filtered to a specific calendar. Actions: Update Database Item, then Add Content to Page with follow-up notes.
Auto-Generated Proposal Pages
Trigger: Pipeline Stage Changed to Won. Actions: Create Page titled Proposal for {{contact.name}}, Add Content to Page, and Add Comment to mention the team.
