Multiple Opportunities per Contact in Sparkforge
Allow Multiple Opportunities per Contact lets one Sparkforge contact have several open deals in the same pipeline. Toggle it on under Sub-Account Settings > Objects > Opportunities, then test with a sample record before rolling it out to live automations.
By default, a Sparkforge contact can hold one opportunity per pipeline. That breaks down fast when the same customer renews, adds a service, or buys a second offer. Turning on Allow Multiple Opportunities per Contact fixes it.
What the setting does
Allow Multiple Opportunities per Contact is a sub-account setting that lets a single contact hold more than one open opportunity card in the same pipeline. Existing cards are untouched; the toggle just removes the one-card-per-contact limit going forward.
When to turn it on
- Renewals and upsells — log a new revenue event without overwriting the prior deal.
- Parallel offers — separate cards for separate products or services running at the same time.
- Multi-location or franchise — the same contact engaging with more than one location.
- Cleaner forecasting — total pipeline value reflects every open deal, not just the latest.
How to enable it
- Go to Sub-Account Settings > Objects > Opportunities.
- Toggle Allow Multiple Opportunities per Contact on.
- Click Save changes.
- Create two test opportunities for the same contact in the same pipeline. Confirm both appear and that automations fire on the right card.
Workflow conflicts to watch for
Automations that find an opportunity by contact will now match more than one record. Audit any workflow that creates, updates, or moves opportunities and add filters (pipeline stage, opportunity name, custom field) so the action targets the right card.
If you turn it back off
Existing duplicate cards stay in place. The system blocks new duplicates from that point forward. Review your create-opportunity workflows so they do not error when a duplicate would have been created.
