How to Manually Sort Products in Sparkforge Ecommerce Stores
Manual Product Sorting lets you assign a Display Priority number to each product so the Product List Page shows them in the order you choose. Use whole numbers (1 = top), then set Featured as the default sorting option in the builder.
Manual Product Sorting controls the exact order products appear on your store's Product List Page. Assign each product a Display Priority, set the storefront's default sort to Featured, and your bestsellers, new arrivals, or promo items show up first.
How priority numbers work
- Lower numbers appear higher: 1 is the top slot.
- Only whole numbers are accepted. Decimals or letters trigger a validation error.
- Products sharing the same priority fall back to alphabetical order (A–Z).
- Out-of-stock products move to the end of the list regardless of priority.
Set display priorities
- Sign in to Sparkforge and click Sites in the left menu.
- Open Stores and either create a new store or edit an existing one.
- Go to the Products tab.
- Enter a whole number in the Display Priority column for each product you want to rank.
- Click Save Changes.
Preview the storefront
- Open the Pages tab.
- Click Preview Link on the Product List page.
- Confirm products load in the order you assigned.
Lock in Featured as the default sort
- Click Edit (or Edit in a New Tab) on the Product List page.
- Select the Product List element.
- Under Sort & Filter, set the Default Sorting Option to Featured.
- Optionally raise Products per page (up to 100) to reduce pagination on large catalogs.
- Click Save.
Mobile sort behavior
Mobile shoppers can override your manual order using the Sort bottom sheet (for example, Price: Low to High). Keep the default sort set to Featured so the Product List Page loads your curated sequence first — the customer can still re-sort if they want.
What stays the same
Existing stores keep their current sort method until you switch them to Featured. New stores ship with Featured selected by default. Manual sorting affects the Product List Page only — it does not change product search results.
