How to Build a LinkedIn Ad Campaign in Sparkforge Ad Manager
Sparkforge Ad Manager mirrors LinkedIn's Campaign Group, Campaign, Ad hierarchy. Create a group, add a campaign with targeting and budget, build creatives, then review and publish. Lead Gen Form data syncs into the CRM automatically.
Sparkforge Ad Manager builds LinkedIn ads using the native three-level hierarchy: Campaign Group, Campaign, Ad. The walk-through below covers each level from creation to publish.
Step 1: Create a campaign group
The campaign group is the top-level container that holds budget and objective.
- Name — descriptive, e.g. Q4 SaaS Leads.
- Objective — Lead Generation (capture leads with LinkedIn forms) or Website Traffic (clicks to a landing page).
- Budget & Schedule — daily or lifetime budget; start and end dates.
- Bidding — manual cost per lead (Lead Gen) or CPC (Traffic).
Step 2: Create a campaign inside the group
Each campaign defines targeting, language, location, and media type.
Campaign-level fields
- Campaign Name — unique identifier.
- Media Type — single image, video, or carousel.
- Language and Geographic Location.
- Intended Audience (optional).
Audience targeting
- Location is required (include or exclude).
- Optional filters: job title, industry, company size, seniority, skills, education, interests, and traits.
- Logic builder: up to 3 attribute groups, OR inside a group, AND between groups, with include/exclude.
Example: Group 1 — Job Title = Marketing Manager OR Director. Group 2 — Industry = Healthcare. Exclude — Interns.
Step 3: Build the ads
Each campaign holds one or more ads.
Ad-level fields
- Ad Name — internal identifier.
- Format (set at campaign level): Single Image, Single Video, or Carousel (each card with its own headline, media, and URL).
- Introduction Text — up to 3,000 characters.
- Headline — up to 70 characters (required).
- Description — up to 300 characters (optional).
- CTA — pick from LinkedIn's list (Learn More, Download, Apply, etc.).
- Destination URL — required; Sparkforge auto-prepends
https://if missing.
Lead Gen Forms (Lead Generation objective)
- Form Name — auto-generated, editable.
- Headline & Description — shown at the top of the form.
- Pre-filled Fields — up to 12 (name, email, job title, etc.).
- Custom Questions — up to 3 (short answer or multiple choice).
- Hidden Fields — up to 20 (UTM tags, campaign IDs).
- Privacy — mandatory privacy URL plus optional disclosure copy.
- Consent Checkboxes — up to 5.
- Confirmation Page — thank-you message plus optional CTA.
Step 4: Review and publish
The Review & Publish screen shows objective, budget, schedule, optimization mode, and a full creative preview for desktop and mobile. Validation checks URLs, LinkedIn budget minimums, and required fields before publishing.
Step 5: Track performance
Open Statistics → LinkedIn:
- Campaign Group — spend, impressions, clicks, CTR.
- Campaign — conversions, audience effectiveness, CPL.
- Ad — CTR, CPC, CPL, conversions, creative performance.
Best practices
- Organize campaign groups by business objective (awareness, lead gen).
- One audience definition per campaign keeps reporting clean.
- Run multiple ads per campaign to compare creatives.
- Start broad, refine with filters once data is in.
- Lead Gen forms convert better when they are short.
- Always tag traffic campaigns with UTMs.
