Add SEO Titles, Descriptions, and Slugs to Sparkforge Products

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Open any product in Payments > Products and fill in the SEO title, description, and custom slug. The featured image becomes the search preview image, and SEO fields only appear when the product is enabled for online stores.

Sparkforge ecommerce products carry their own SEO metadata so search engines can index, preview, and rank each listing. You set this on the product itself, not the store template.

Where to set product SEO

Go to Payments > Products and open any product in create or edit mode. Scroll to the Search Engine Listing section and configure:

  • SEO title — what shows in the search result link
  • SEO description — the snippet under the title
  • Custom slug — the readable handle used in the product URL

Rules and gotchas

  • The product's featured image is used as the social and search preview image automatically.
  • SEO fields only appear when the product is toggled on for listing in online stores. If you don't see them, enable the storefront listing first.
  • Each slug must be unique. Two products cannot share the same slug.

Best practices

Write the SEO title to match how customers actually search, not your internal SKU naming. Keep descriptions to 140-160 characters so they don't truncate. Use the slug field to fix legacy URLs without renaming the product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I edit SEO metadata for a Sparkforge product?
Open Payments > Products, edit any product, and scroll to the Search Engine Listing section. SEO title, description, and custom slug live there.
Why don't I see the SEO fields on my product?
The product must be enabled for listing in online stores. Toggle that on and the SEO section appears.
Can two products share the same custom slug?
No. Each slug must be unique within your store, since it controls the product URL.
Which image is used as the SEO preview?
The product's featured image is used automatically. There is no separate SEO image upload.
