How Product Deletion Works in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge lets you delete products from the list, the details page, or in bulk. SaaS products with active subscriptions, plus Calendars and Memberships products, are protected.

Product deletion permanently removes products you no longer sell. To protect billing and customer access, certain product types are blocked, and items linked to active subscriptions cannot be removed until those subscriptions are resolved.

Important: deleting a product does not retroactively remove existing transactions, orders, invoices, or subscriptions tied to it. Only future purchases and actions are blocked.

What you need

  • Permissions: a role with Products → Delete and Products → View.
  • Location: Payments → Products.
  • Awareness: deletion is permanent. Confirm the product is not required by active checkouts, Calendars, Memberships, or SaaS subscriptions before proceeding.

Delete a single product

From the products list

  1. Go to Payments → Products.
  2. Locate the product.
  3. Click the trash icon.
  4. Confirm in the dialog.

From the product details page

  1. Go to Payments → Products → Edit.
  2. Click Delete Price on the price or variant you want to remove.

Note: the last remaining price or variant cannot be deleted. A product must always have at least one. If the delete control is disabled, see Restrictions below.

Bulk delete

  1. Go to Payments → Products.
  2. Use the checkboxes to select multiple products, or use Select All.
  3. Click Delete under Bulk Actions.
  4. Review the confirmation message and confirm.

Only eligible products are deleted. Protected products are skipped and the dialog tells you so explicitly.

Restrictions: what you cannot delete

SaaS products (SaaS Plans and Agency Plans)

  • Blocked while any active or past_due subscriptions exist on the product.
  • Allowed once no active or past_due subscriptions remain.

Calendars products

Products created by Calendars cannot be deleted. The delete control is hidden.

Memberships and Communities products

Products created by Memberships or Communities cannot be deleted. The delete control is hidden.

Prices and variants on protected products

  • Saved prices and variants on SaaS, Calendars, or Memberships products cannot be deleted.
  • Unsaved prices or variants (added but not yet saved) can be removed.

External payment gateway cleanup

Products linked to an external gateway like Stripe or PayPal require dual deletion. Removing the product in Sparkforge clears the local record but leaves the corresponding product or plan in your gateway. To fully retire a product:

  1. Delete it from Payments → Products in Sparkforge.
  2. Log into your gateway dashboard and delete or archive the matching product or plan there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the delete button missing on my product?
It is either a Calendars or Memberships product (which can never be deleted), or it is a SaaS product with active or past_due subscriptions.
How do I delete a blocked SaaS product?
Resolve or cancel every active and past_due subscription on the product first. Once none remain, the delete control unlocks.
What happens in bulk delete if I select protected products?
Only eligible products are deleted. Protected items are skipped and the confirmation dialog explains the behavior before you commit.
Can I delete a price on a protected product?
Only if it has not been saved yet. Saved prices and variants on SaaS, Calendars, or Memberships products cannot be deleted.
Is deletion reversible?
No. Deletion is permanent. Confirm dependencies before you confirm the dialog.
