Google Forms Triggers and Actions in Sparkforge Workflows
Connect Google Forms to Sparkforge Workflows so a new or updated response starts an automation, and use Find Form or Find Response actions to pull data into later steps.
Google Forms in Sparkforge Workflows lets you start an automation from a form submission and pull form or response data into later workflow steps. Use it to create contacts, route work internally, update opportunities, and send personalized follow-up.
What it does
Google Forms supports both triggers and actions. A trigger starts a workflow when a response is detected. An action retrieves form or response data during a workflow that is already running.
Prerequisites
Connect Google Forms in the sub-account before you build a workflow.
- Open Settings in the sub-account.
- Click Integrations in the left menu.
- Stay on the All Integrations tab.
- Find Google Forms and click Connect.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns the forms.
- Approve the requested permissions.
- Confirm the integration shows Connected.
Available trigger
New or Updated Response
Starts a workflow when a new Google Forms response is detected or an existing response is updated. The trigger uses a polling interval of about five minutes, so the workflow may not start instantly. Test with a real submission or response edit so you can see how it actually fires.
Available actions
- Find Form — search for a form and return form details for later steps.
- Find Response by ID — pull a specific response when you already have the ID.
- Find Responses by Form Name — search responses tied to a named form.
Use action output to branch the workflow based on whether data was found, then feed values into email, contact updates, tasks, or opportunity changes.
Build a Google Forms trigger
- Go to Automation > Workflows and create or open a workflow.
- Add the New or Updated Response trigger.
- Select the Google Form you want to monitor.
- Save the trigger and publish the workflow.
- Submit a test response or edit an existing one.
- Wait for the polling interval to detect the change.
Build a Google Forms action
- Inside a workflow, click the + icon to add an action.
- Search for Google Forms and pick the action you need (Find Form, Find Response by ID, or Find Responses by Form Name).
- Configure the required fields.
- Save the action.
- Reference the returned values in later steps such as contact updates, email, tasks, or opportunity changes.
