General Toggles in Sparkforge Business Profile Settings

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The General section of Business Profile contains toggles that affect data quality, scheduling, and deliverability. Several settings have moved to dedicated panels but remain accessible via shortcut buttons here.

The General section of Business Profile is small but high-impact. The toggles here govern how duplicates are handled, how contact time zones work, how email opens and clicks are counted, and what compliance defaults apply to SMS and email. Get them wrong and you’ll see weird behavior in Contacts that’s hard to track down.

Duplication Opportunity Settings

When on, duplicate opportunities can be created in the same pipeline rather than moving an existing opportunity between stages. Useful for repeat-purchase businesses where every transaction is a new deal. This setting now lives under Objects > Opportunities > Details alongside other opportunity-specific config — use the Go to Opportunities Settings button to jump there directly.

Merge Facebook Contacts By Name

Facebook Messenger only sends a name — no phone, no email — so by default each conversation creates a new contact. Turn this on to merge incoming Facebook contacts into existing contacts with the exact same name. Match is case-sensitive and must be exact.

Disable Contact Timezone

By default, Sparkforge respects each contact’s time zone when scheduling sends. If you want every send to use the sub-account time zone instead (for example, an 8 AM EST blast going out at 8 AM EST regardless of recipient location), enable this. Otherwise leave it off so a California recipient doesn’t get an email at 5 AM PST.

Bot Detection

Bot opens and clicks inflate email metrics and can fire automations off fake engagement. Bot Detection prevents bot-triggered actions from incrementing statistics or executing automation steps. Turn it on to keep your data and automations honest.

Number Intelligence

Best-practice phone number checks that protect deliverability, control costs, and guard reputation. The configuration moved to Number Intelligence under Advanced Settings — use the shortcut button to open it.

Verify Email Address on First Send

Validates a contact’s email the first time you send to them. If it’s flagged invalid, the send is blocked and the email must be revalidated before future sends. Validation costs $0.005 per attempt, billed against agency or sub-account credits.

If the sub-account is in SaaS Mode on Agency Pro, you can adjust the rebill rate so validation becomes a profit center instead of a cost.

SMS Compliance

Sparkforge configures opt-out messaging by default in every sub-account. You can customize the messages or disable them (not recommended). The settings moved to SMS Compliance under Advanced Settings.

Email Unsubscribe Link

Required by deliverability and consumer-protection laws. Sparkforge configures it by default in every sub-account. You can customize or disable it, but doing so puts deliverability and compliance at risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are some toggles missing from this page?
Several settings (Duplication, Number Intelligence, SMS Compliance) moved to dedicated panels. Use the shortcut buttons in the General section to jump straight to the new locations.
Should I disable Contact Timezone?
Only if you specifically want every send to use the sub-account time zone. Leave it on for normal use so California recipients don’t get 5 AM emails when you schedule for 8 AM EST.
What does Bot Detection actually block?
Bot-triggered email opens and clicks won’t increment statistics or trigger automation steps. Real engagement still counts and still fires automations.
How much does email validation cost?
$0.005 per validation attempt, deducted from agency or sub-account credits. SaaS Mode users on Agency Pro can rebill validation as a margin item.
Can I turn off the email unsubscribe link?
Technically yes, but it’s strongly discouraged. Removing it breaks compliance with bulk-sender requirements and tanks deliverability.
What does Merge Facebook Contacts By Name do?
Facebook Messenger only sends a name. Turning this on merges incoming Facebook contacts into existing contacts that have the exact same name (case-sensitive).
