Sync Sparkforge Store Products to Facebook and Instagram

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Connect a Facebook Shop and Instagram Shop to your Sparkforge online store to push products into the Meta Commerce catalog, keep inventory in sync, and run ads on those products.

You can publish and sync products from a Sparkforge online store to Facebook Shops and Instagram Shops. Once connected, your store inventory feeds the Meta product catalog, you can run ads against those products, and inventory updates flow one-way from Sparkforge into Meta.

Step 1: Build the Facebook Shop

Create a Business Portfolio

Go to business.facebook.com, sign in, and finish the Business Portfolio details.

Create the Shop

  1. In the left menu, click All tools > Commerce.
  2. Click Add account to start the Shop creation.
  3. Walk through the Shop setup. You'll need a Facebook Page for the sales channel — set its category to E-commerce Website. (You can add this later under About on the Page if you forget.)
  4. Pick an existing Business Portfolio or create a new one.
  5. Create the product catalog and click Next. Agree to the terms and submit.

Step 2: Add Instagram Shop

  1. Open the Shop you just created.
  2. Click Settings and add the Instagram sales channel.
  3. Click Connect to link your Instagram account to the Shop.

Step 3: Connect to Sparkforge

Enable Multiple Facebook Pages in Labs

Go to Sub-account Settings > Labs and turn on Multiple Facebook Pages. The Shops integration only works with this lab enabled.

Connect the integration

  1. In the sub-account, go to Settings > Integrations > Facebook & Instagram.
  2. If this is your first connection, link your Facebook account and grant the requested permissions.
  3. In Manage Pages, select the Facebook and Instagram Shop pages you want to connect to your Sparkforge store.

Reconnect if you used the old integration

If you connected Facebook before the Shops feature shipped:

  1. Disconnect the integration in Sparkforge.
  2. On Facebook, go to your profile Settings & Privacy > Settings and search for Business Integrations. Remove the Sparkforge integration there too.
  3. Reconnect from Sparkforge. If the Catalog Management scope is missing, you'll see an error — grant the scope and try again.

Step 4: Link Shop pages to your store

In the Facebook and Instagram integration card, open Messenger Settings. The Shops tab lists your selected pages — connect each one to the matching Sparkforge online store so products sync to the right catalog. Toggle Product Sync per page to control which Shops actually receive products.

Run ads on synced products

  1. Open the Shop in Meta Commerce.
  2. Go to Catalogue > Items.
  3. Select the products you want to advertise and click Advertise Set to set up ads.

Notes and tips

  • The Facebook Page must have a Product Catalog connected to it for sync to run.
  • The Page category must be E-commerce Website to show up in the Shops section.
  • Manage Page categories from the Page's About section under Contact and basic info.
  • The Page must also be linked to a Sparkforge store under Shops for product sync to occur.
  • Only one-time products sync to Meta. Recurring/subscription products are not supported in Meta Commerce.
  • If you disable inventory tracking or set continue selling out of stock, Sparkforge sends quantity 999 because Meta requires an inventory value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why aren't my products showing up in the Facebook Shop?
Check that the Facebook Page has a Product Catalog connected, that its category is set to E-commerce Website, and that the Page is linked to your Sparkforge store under Shops. All three are required for sync to run.
Can I sync subscription products to Meta?
No. Only one-time products sync to Meta Commerce Manager. Recurring or subscription products are not supported on the Meta side.
I had Facebook connected before — do I have to reconnect?
Yes. Enable Multiple Facebook Pages under Labs, disconnect Facebook in Sparkforge, remove the Sparkforge integration from Facebook's Business Integrations settings, and reconnect.
What inventory does Meta show for out-of-stock items?
Meta requires a numeric inventory value. If you disable tracking or allow selling when out of stock, Sparkforge sends 999 to satisfy the requirement.
Can I control which Shop pages actually receive products?
Yes. Each Shop page has its own Product Sync toggle, so you can sync some pages and leave others off.
