How to Edit Membership Courses with the New Course Editor

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The new Sparkforge course editor opens a full-width workspace with a left-side course map and breadcrumbs so you can reorder, edit, and navigate modules and lessons without page-hopping.

The new course editor in Sparkforge Memberships gives you a wider workspace, keeps the full course structure in view, and removes most of the page-switching the old editor required.

What changed in the editor

The updated editor uses a large editing window, a left-side course map for the full structure, and breadcrumbs at the top so you always know where you are inside a course.

What you get

  • Fewer distractions: a focused workspace that hides surrounding UI.
  • Faster navigation: jump to any lesson or quiz from the course map.
  • Better organization: the course outline stays visible while you edit.
  • Quick structure changes: reorder content with drag-and-drop and collapse or expand sections.

How to use the new editor

  1. Open the editor. Go to Memberships, open Courses, select a course, and open the editor. It launches in a wide workspace.
  2. Read the layout. The left panel shows your course map. The main area opens the selected lesson, quiz, or section for editing.
  3. Reorder content. In the course map, drag an item to a new position and drop it where you want it.
  4. Collapse and expand sections. Collapse modules to focus on one area, then expand them when you need the full view.
  5. Use status indicators and quick actions. The map shows status (published, draft, locked) and quick actions like edit, delete, and visibility.

When to use it

Use the new editor whenever you build, restructure, or revise a course. The wider workspace and persistent course map are most useful when a course has many modules and you need to move lessons between sections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the new editor replace the old multi-page flow?
Yes. The course map and editor are visible at the same time, so you no longer page-hop between an outline view and an item editor.
Can I reorder modules and lessons?
Yes. The course map supports drag-and-drop reordering for modules, lessons, and quizzes.
What does "locked" mean in the course map?
Locked is a status indicator showing that a module or lesson is gated and not currently available to learners.
Can I jump between steps while creating a course?
Yes. The course creation flow uses a progress indicator with clickable steps so you can go back, skip, or jump to completed steps.
Is the new editor faster than the old one?
Yes. Page and editor interactions are noticeably faster thanks to improved loading, caching, and state handling.
