The Trigger Link Clicked trigger fires a workflow when a contact clicks a specific tracked link. Use it for engagement follow-ups, segmentation, and high-intent re-targeting.

The Trigger Link Clicked workflow fires when a contact clicks a specific tracked link in any Sparkforge message — email, SMS, or other channel. Use it to identify high-intent engagement and auto-launch the right follow-up sequence.

What this trigger does

Trigger links are tracked URLs you create inside Sparkforge. Whenever a contact clicks one, the workflow fires for that contact. Filter by link to scope each workflow to a single campaign or offer — that way the follow-up matches what they clicked on.

Configure the trigger

  1. In the workflow builder, click Add New Trigger and select Trigger Link Clicked.
  2. Name the trigger something specific, like Promo Link Clicked or Survey Link Engagement.
  3. Pick the trigger link from the dropdown — the link filter is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I use trigger links?
Anywhere you can paste a URL — emails, SMS, funnel buttons, even external posts. As long as the link is the tracked Sparkforge URL, the trigger fires.
Can one trigger link be used in multiple campaigns?
Yes, but the workflow fires for any click, regardless of which message contained the link. Use separate links per campaign if you need to attribute clicks.
Does it fire if the same contact clicks twice?
Yes. Add a workflow condition that checks for a tag set on first click to avoid duplicate follow-ups.
Can I see who clicked?
Yes. Click activity is logged on the contact record, and you can also pull a report of clickers from the trigger link itself.
