Why You Cannot Delete a Twilio Subaccount From Sparkforge
Sparkforge can only delete Twilio subaccounts it provisioned through its own ISV. If you connected your own Twilio account, you must close the subaccount manually from the Twilio Console — Sparkforge will only show a banner.
If you tried to delete a Twilio subaccount from Sparkforge and saw a banner saying deletion is not supported, the subaccount was created outside Sparkforge's Twilio ISV. Sparkforge cannot close Twilio accounts it did not provision. You close them yourself in the Twilio Console.
Why the Delete Option Is Missing
Some Sparkforge accounts are connected to external Twilio accounts that you manage directly. In those cases:
- Sparkforge does not have permission to delete the subaccount.
- The subaccount stays active on your Twilio dashboard until you remove it.
- Twilio may keep billing you for the subaccount until you take action.
Inside Sparkforge, you only see a banner: Subaccount deletion is not supported. No delete button is shown.
Does This Apply to You?
This applies if any of the following is true:
- You connected your own Twilio account to the sub-account.
- You are not using the Sparkforge built-in carrier or messaging service.
- You see the Subaccount deletion is not supported banner.
How to Close the Subaccount in Twilio
- Log in to the Twilio Console at
https://console.twilio.com. - Open Subaccounts from the left menu.
- Locate the subaccount you want to delete.
- Click the ... (More Options) icon next to it.
- Choose Close Subaccount.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Once closed, billing on that subaccount stops.
Important Notes
- Closing a subaccount is permanent. Export anything you need before you confirm.
- Sparkforge-side deletion only works on subaccounts Sparkforge itself provisioned.
- You stay responsible for monitoring charges on any external Twilio account.
