UK KYC Requirements for Sparkforge Phone Numbers

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

UK long codes (local, national, mobile, toll-free) must be tied to an approved Regulatory Compliance (RC) bundle. New purchases require the bundle from May 27, 2024, and all existing UK long codes need a bundle by September 30, 2024 to keep sending.

UK regulators tightened Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements to reduce SMS and voice fraud. If you use Sparkforge UK long codes, you need an approved Regulatory Compliance (RC) bundle attached to each number or traffic gets blocked.

Key dates

  • May 27, 2024 — every new UK long code purchase requires an approved RC bundle before checkout.
  • July 30, 2024 — SMS sent from international long codes to UK recipients is blocked.
  • September 30, 2024 — every existing UK long code must be tied to an approved RC bundle. Numbers without one stop sending.

What to do

  1. Collect the required information and documents now.
  2. Submit your RC bundle through the Sparkforge console.
  3. Sparkforge reviews and approves or rejects the bundle.
  4. If rejected, read the reason, fix the issue, and resubmit.
  5. For new UK long code purchases after May 27, 2024, get your RC bundle approved before buying to avoid service gaps.
  6. Connect every existing UK long code to an approved RC bundle before September 30, 2024.

Best-practice notes

  • Don't create duplicate RC bundles. Each bundle should hold unique details.
  • Assign the bundle that matches the number's actual use case (e.g. London-office numbers get the London RC bundle).
