How to Track SMS Restriction History in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The SMS Restriction History dashboard logs every warning and temporary sending lock on a sub-account, including the cause and measured value. Use it to investigate opt-out spikes, error rates, and 24-hour lockouts before they repeat.

The SMS Restriction History dashboard is a read-only log of warnings and temporary sending restrictions on a sub-account. Each entry shows the date, type, cause, and the measured value at the time, so you can correct the underlying issue and stay compliant with carrier rules.

What triggers an SMS restriction

  • Daily or weekly sending limit violations.
  • High opt-out rate.
  • High delivery error rate, including carrier filtering such as Error 30007.

Example: a campaign with a 6% opt-out rate — well above the 2 to 3% safe target — can produce a temporary restriction. The log captures the time and details so you can investigate.

Where to find the restriction log

  1. Open Settings in the sub-account.
  2. Go to Phone Numbers.
  3. Click Advanced Settings in the top right.
  4. Open the Restriction History tab.

The right side of the table has Start Date and End Date filters for narrowing to a specific window. Pagination at the bottom moves through older events.

Threshold guidance

Opt-out rate

  • Good range: 0 to 1%.
  • Stay below 2 to 3% to avoid risk.
  • At 3%, the sub-account is locked from sending text messages for 24 hours.

Delivery error rate

  • Good range: 0 to 6%.
  • At 10%, the sub-account is locked for 24 hours.

A high opt-out rate means contacts are objecting, complaining, or marking your SMS as spam. A high delivery error rate means you are sending to disconnected numbers, landlines, or recipients carriers are filtering out.

What to do after a lockout

  1. Review your most recent sends and the message content.
  2. Clean the list — remove landlines and unverified numbers.
  3. Check capture forms for number validation.
  4. Review compliance settings before resuming.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the restriction log show real-time data?
Each event is recorded with a timestamp. Use the date filters on the right to explore specific time windows.
Will I see both warnings and temporary restrictions?

How do I lower my SMS error rate?
Clean lists regularly, remove landlines, validate numbers at capture, and avoid content patterns that trigger carrier filtering.
What opt-out rate triggers a lockout?
