Automate SMS Opt-Out and Sender Info in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge can append opt-out language and sender info to ongoing SMS threads automatically every 1-60 days. It runs at the sub-account level, defaults on for new accounts and off for existing ones, and helps maintain TCPA and CTIA compliance.

Sparkforge can periodically re-insert opt-out language and sender details into active SMS and MMS threads so ongoing conversations stay compliant with TCPA, CTIA, GDPR, and CCPA without manual work. The setting is controlled per sub-account.

What the automation does

  • Appends required disclosures (for example, Reply STOP to unsubscribe) to active SMS/MMS threads on a schedule you set.
  • Refreshes sender identification at the same interval so recipients can always tell who's messaging them.
  • Runs in the background, no per-thread editing required.
  • Helps keep deliverability up by aligning with carrier guidelines.

When to enable Periodic Opt-Out

Turn on if

  • You run long threads where compliance language needs to stay visible.
  • You send recurring promotions or nurture sequences.

Turn off if

  • You only need first-message compliance, not periodic re-insertion.
  • You handle compliance language manually (not recommended).

Defaults: new sub-accounts have it enabled, existing sub-accounts have it disabled. The first outbound message in any conversation always includes sender info and opt-out language regardless of this setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this update past conversations?
No. The automation only applies to new and ongoing conversations. Past messages stay as they were sent.
How does the system decide when to re-add opt-out info?
It uses the interval you set (for example, every 30 days). Each thread is tracked and refreshed once the interval elapses.
Can I turn the automation off if I handle compliance manually?
Yes. Untick the Enable Periodic Opt-Out toggle, or stretch the interval out to a longer window. The first-message behavior still applies regardless.
How does this affect deliverability?
Carriers filter or block messages missing proper sender or opt-out details. Keeping disclosures fresh helps avoid suppression and protects your sender reputation.
Where does the setting live?
Settings → Phone Numbers → Messaging tab → Messaging Compliance sub-tab. The Enable Periodic Opt-Out toggle and interval picker are in that section.
