How to Send Quotes With Optional Items in Sparkforge Documents
Sparkforge documents and contracts let you mark product list items as optional or quantity-editable so signers choose what they want, and the total recalculates based on what's selected.
Send quotes that let your client pick the add-ons they want. Sparkforge contracts now support optional items in the product list, editable quantities with min/max limits, and totals that update based on what the signer selects.
What you can do
- Mark any product list item as optional so the signer decides whether to include it.
- Allow the signer to edit quantity, with minimum and maximum bounds you control.
- Auto-assign the product list to the primary recipient.
- Recalculate the total based only on selected items.
How to set it up
- Open the document or contract and add a Product List block.
- Add a new product to the list.
- Toggle Edit Quantity on for items the signer can adjust, and set min/max if needed.
- Toggle Optional Item on for any line you want the signer to be able to skip.
- Send the document. The signer's selections drive the final total.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the signer change the price of an item?
No. Signers can toggle optional items on or off and adjust quantities within the limits you set. Unit prices are fixed by the document creator.
Does the total update in real time as the signer makes choices?
Yes. The total reflects only the items currently selected and the quantities chosen, and updates as the signer interacts with the product list.
Who is the product list assigned to by default?
The primary recipient. If you have multiple signers, the product list selection sits with the primary recipient unless you reassign it.
