How to Send Documents and Contracts via SMS in Sparkforge
Sparkforge can deliver documents and contracts by SMS, Email, or both. Set a global default under Payments > Documents & Contracts > Settings, save reusable SMS snippets, and trigger sends from workflows for automated delivery.
Email gets buried. Texts get read. Sparkforge lets you deliver contracts, proposals, and documents over SMS, Email, or both — with reusable snippets and workflow triggers so the right message goes out without retyping.
Set Global Notification Defaults
Set the default delivery channel once so every team member follows the same rule.
- Open Payments > Documents & Contracts.
- Click Settings.
- Select Customer Notifications.
- Choose SMS only or Email + SMS.
- Save.
Document Received follows the default but can be overridden per-send. Document Signed always uses the global setting.
Create Reusable SMS Snippets
Snippets keep document SMS messages consistent across your team.
- Go to Marketing > Snippets.
- Click New Snippet and choose SMS.
- Write a short message — for example: Your document is ready. Please review and sign it here.
- Save.
Send a Document Individually
- Open the document.
- Click Send.
- Choose Email, SMS, or Email + SMS.
- Pick your SMS snippet if prompted.
- Confirm the recipient phone and email, then send.
Send Documents from a Workflow
- Open Automation > Workflows.
- Add the Send Documents & Contracts action.
- Select the document or contract template.
- Choose the channel.
- Save and publish.
Workflow sends use the default SMS template behavior configured for documents.
Before You Send
- Confirm the contact's phone number is correct for SMS delivery.
- Verify the email address when using Email + SMS.
- Use snippets for any document type you send more than once.
