How to Pick To and From Numbers for SMS in Sparkforge
In the Sparkforge Conversations composer, the From dropdown picks which phone number sends the SMS and the To dropdown picks which contact number receives it. Defaults and last-used numbers auto-select.
The Conversations module in Sparkforge lets you pick both the sending number (From) and the recipient number (To) for any SMS. Use it when a contact has multiple phone numbers or when you operate several outbound numbers across departments.
Pick a From number
- Open Conversations and start a message.
- Click the SMS tab in the composer.
- Click the From dropdown to see available numbers.
Each option shows the friendly name and the assigned user underneath the number. Tags mark the account default number and the number last used to message this contact. The dropdown auto-selects:
- The last number used to message the contact, if there is prior conversation history.
- The account default number, if there is no prior conversation.
Pick a To number
If the contact has more than one phone number, click the dropdown next to the To field and choose the right one. With no prior conversation, the contact's primary number is selected by default.
Role-based access to numbers
Admins
Admins see every phone number configured on the account.
Users
Standard users see a narrower list:
- The account default number.
- The last number used to message the contact.
- Numbers assigned directly to the user.
- Unassigned numbers.
Numbers assigned to other users do not appear in a regular user's From dropdown.
