Getting Started with the New Conversations Tab
The redesigned Conversations tab in Sparkforge uses a four-panel layout, advanced tag and AND/OR filtering, a full-screen or inline email composer, and runs roughly 70% faster with ~18% lower memory use.
The Conversations module has been rebuilt for speed and clarity. A four-panel layout, tag-based and AND/OR filters, and a modernized email composer let teams triage, collaborate, and act without leaving the thread.
What's new at a glance
- Performance — actions roughly 70% faster, navigation roughly 35% faster.
- Memory — overall use down from ~1.7 GB to ~0.45 GB. Stays under ~450 MB across 50 contact switches.
- Single-screen context — contact details, documents, payments, and activities sit alongside the thread.
- Precision filtering — tags plus AND/OR operators, saved as views for one-click access.
- Flexible composing — full-screen email for long drafts, inline replies for quick responses.
- Consistent dates — month-name format (e.g. Jan 5) instead of ambiguous mm/dd vs dd/mm.
- Built-in collaboration — internal comments and @mentions stay private to the team.
Four-panel layout
The panels are collapsible. Click the collapse icon in the middle of the left panel to toggle the Inbox Panel. Click the tab icon on the right edge to toggle the Right Panel.
1. Inbox Panel
Switch context across personal, team, or internal chat:
- My Inbox — conversations assigned to or followed by you.
- Team Inbox — all conversations in the account (requires full data access).
- Internal Chat — private team discussions, separate from customer threads.
Accounts with Assigned Data Access see My Inbox and Internal Chat only. Full-access users see all three.
2. Chat List Panel
Lists threads matching your inbox, folder, or saved view.
- Top select box enables bulk actions: Mark Read/Unread, Star/Unstar, Delete.
- Sort by newest or oldest activity.
- Filter icon supports channel, tags, owner, and date — with AND/OR combinations.
3. Message History Panel
The main reading and reply area. Spans Email, SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook/Instagram messages, and Internal Comments.
4. Right Panel
Contact context lives here. View and edit contact fields, custom fields, folders, tags, and owner. Create or view opportunities, appointments, invoices, and payments. Switch tabs across Contact, Activities, Associations, Documents, and Payments.
Switching channels mid-thread
Open the channel selector in the composer to switch channels. Sparkforge remembers the last channel you used in a conversation if you collapse and reopen the composer. Select Internal Comment to add a private team note — internal comment drafts persist across channel switches and conversation changes.
Message composer
- Inline Reply Composer opens directly below the active message so context stays visible.
- Full-screen mode for long replies.
- File attachments and links.
- Paste files or images directly from the clipboard (Ctrl+V on Windows, Cmd+V on Mac).
- Quick send via the send icon.
Filtering inside a thread
Use the message filter at the top right of the timeline to show:
- All messages
- Conversations (direct exchanges)
- Activities (appointments, updates)
- Email, Internal Comment, Contacts, Opportunities, Payments, Invoices, AI Action Logs
Tag and AND/OR filters
Filter conversations by tag for precise segmentation:
- All conversations tagged High Priority.
- All leads marked Follow-up Required.
Combine multiple criteria with operators:
- AND — display threads matching every selected condition. Example: tagged High Priority AND assigned to you.
- OR — display threads matching any selected condition. Example: from Email OR WhatsApp channels.
