How to CC and BCC in the Sparkforge Email Composer
The new email composer in Sparkforge supports CC and BCC. CC reveals all recipients; BCC hides them. Both fields sync two-way with Gmail and Outlook.
The Sparkforge email composer supports CC and BCC alongside the To field. CC recipients are visible to everyone on the thread; BCC recipients are hidden. The feature lives in the new message composer and is enabled in Labs.
CC vs BCC
CC (carbon copy) sends a copy to additional recipients with their addresses visible to all parties on the email.
BCC (blind carbon copy) sends a copy to additional recipients with their addresses hidden from everyone else on the email.
When to use which
- Project updates: CC management or other departments while keeping the team in the To field.
- Customer support: CC a manager or technical team when working a customer ticket.
- Confidential review: BCC HR when emailing a staff member so HR is informed without revealing their presence.
- Mass announcements: BCC the recipient list so addresses stay private.
- Vendor comms: Put the primary vendor in To and CC the rest for transparency.
How to use CC and BCC
- Open the composer with New Email or Reply on an existing thread.
- The CC and BCC fields sit alongside the To field.
- Click the field to expand it. Pick from the contact dropdown or type an external address.
- Click the field again to collapse it. The recipients are saved.

Frequently asked questions
Does adding an outside email to CC or BCC create a contact?
No. External addresses on CC or BCC do not create new contacts.
What if I add an existing contact to CC or BCC?
The conversation only shows under the primary contact's thread (the To recipient). It does not appear under the CC or BCC contact.
Which email channels support CC and BCC?
All of them: Mailgun, LeadConnector two-way sync (Gmail and Outlook), SMTP, Custom Providers, and Custom Conversations Providers.
Why use CC or BCC at all?
CC keeps stakeholders in the loop openly; BCC keeps them informed without revealing it. Both let you communicate with multiple parties from a single thread without forwarding.
