Allow Multiple Opportunities per Contact in Workflows
Toggle Allow Multiple Opportunity under Settings > Objects > Opportunities so each opportunity on a contact runs as its own workflow execution. Updates do not restart the workflow — execution continues with the latest values.
By default, only the most recent opportunity on a contact enters a workflow. Sparkforge's Allow Multiple Opportunity toggle changes that — every opportunity tied to the contact runs as its own workflow execution.
What the toggle changes
With Allow Multiple Opportunity on:
- Each contact-opportunity pair runs as a separate workflow execution.
- Updates to an opportunity do not restart the workflow. The current execution continues from where it is, using the updated values from that point on.
How to enable it
- Go to Settings > Objects > Opportunities.
- Find the Allow Multiple Opportunity toggle at the top of the settings, near Allow Re-entry.
- Switch it on.
- Save the settings.
Example: real estate workflow
Say a real estate agent has the contact John Doe with two opportunities: 1 Madison Avenue and 2 Nice Street. The workflow triggers on opportunity update and sends a 2-day SMS reminder.
With Allow Multiple Opportunity OFF
- 1 Madison Avenue updates at 1/1/2024 8 AM — SMS sent.
- 2 Nice Street updates at 1/1/2024 12 PM — actions skipped because the contact is already in the workflow.
With Allow Multiple Opportunity ON
- 1 Madison Avenue updates at 1/1/2024 8 AM — SMS sent.
- 2 Nice Street updates at 1/1/2024 12 PM — separate execution, second SMS sent.
Both opportunities co-exist in the workflow as independent executions.
