The Messaging Ramp is an 8-level warm-up system for SMS sent through Sparkforge Phone. The Messaging Ramp Progress Card shows your current level, daily cap, and the next requirement.
Scope: The ramp applies to SMS and MMS sent through Sparkforge Phone. WhatsApp limits are governed separately.
Where to find the card
- From a location, go to Settings → Phone System.
- Open the Messaging tab.
- Select Messaging Limit.
How the ramp works
- Every location starts at Level 1 with a daily cap of 100 SMS.
- To unlock the next level, send the full cap inside a 24-hour window.
- Once you hit the cap, outbound SMS pauses for 24 hours. This protects deliverability.
- After the 24-hour pause, the next level unlocks automatically and the card updates.
- The ramp begins on the day of your first successful SMS, not the signup date.
Example progression
- Level 1 cap: 100 SMS. Send 100 in 24 hours, wait 24 hours.
- Level 2 unlocks at 250 SMS daily. Send 250, wait 24 hours.
- Level 3 unlocks at 500 SMS daily. Continue the pattern.
- By Level 8, the daily cap is 3,000+ SMS.
What counts toward the cap
One-to-one messages and Missed Call Text Back replies now count against the daily limit. Earlier behavior excluded them; that exception has been removed.
During the 24-hour pause
- Outbound SMS – including one-to-one – is blocked until the cooldown ends.
- Inbound replies still arrive normally. The pause only affects sending.
After Level 8
The card displays a congratulatory message and points you to your agency owner or admin for higher capacity above the standard ramp.
