How to View All Chart of Accounts in the Sparkforge Xero Integration

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Xero hides accounts from third-party connections until you tick “Enable payments to this account” on each one. Toggle it inside Xero’s Chart of Accounts and the missing accounts appear in your Sparkforge integration.

If accounts are missing from the Connected Account dropdown after linking Xero to Sparkforge, the cause is almost always Xero’s per-account payments toggle. Until that’s enabled, the account is invisible to external integrations.

Fix It in Xero

  1. From your Xero dashboard, select your organization, then click Settings from the dropdown.
  2. Inside Organization settings, scroll down and click Looking for advanced settings?
  3. Under Advanced Accounting, click Chart of accounts.
  4. Pick the account you want connected (for example, Prepayments) and click Edit.
  5. In the edit popup, tick Enable payments to this account and click Save.

Connect It in Sparkforge

Return to your Sparkforge Xero integration. Under Connected Account, the account you just enabled now appears in the dropdown — select it and save.

Repeat for Each Account

Xero treats each chart entry independently. If multiple accounts are missing, repeat the enable-payments step for every one you want available in Sparkforge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why aren’t my Xero accounts showing in Sparkforge?
Xero only exposes accounts to third-party integrations when “Enable payments to this account” is ticked. Toggle it inside Chart of accounts, save, and refresh the integration.
Do I need to repeat this for every account?
Yes. The setting is per-account in Xero. Enable payments on each account you want available in Sparkforge.
Where exactly is the Chart of Accounts in Xero?
Settings > Looking for advanced settings? > Advanced Accounting > Chart of accounts.
Will enabling payments affect my Xero bookkeeping?
No. The toggle just permits payment allocation on that account. It doesn’t change balances or existing transactions.
