How to Enable Partial Payments on Sparkforge Invoices
Turn on Partial Payments in Payments → Invoices → Settings, set a minimum percentage of the invoice total, and customers can pay any amount at or above that floor. Works for one-time invoices and for recurring invoices when autopay is off.
Sparkforge lets you accept partial payments on invoices instead of forcing customers to pay the full amount up front. You set a minimum percentage of the total, and the customer can pay any amount equal to or greater than that floor from the invoice page.
When partial payments apply
- One-time invoices: partial payments work fully.
- Recurring invoices with autopay off: partial payments work the same way as one-time invoices.
- Recurring invoices with autopay on: the first invoice can take a partial payment, but every subsequent invoice will autodraft the full amount.
Prerequisite
Connect a payment gateway first — Stripe, Authorize.net, or NMI. Without a gateway, the toggle has nothing to charge against.
Enable partial payments
- Go to Payments → Invoices → Invoices Settings.
- Open Payment Settings.
- Toggle Partial Payments on.
- Enter the minimum percentage of the invoice total a customer must pay.
- Click Save.
The minimum percentage applies to every invoice you send while the toggle is on. Customers see it as a floor on the payment field rather than a fixed amount.
