How to Set Up the Adyen Payments Integration in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Sparkforge's Adyen integration routes card transactions through your existing Adyen merchant account on Invoices, Payment Links, Stores, and order forms. Add the Company API Key (and Live URL Prefix for Live mode) to connect.

Adyen Payments Integration connects an existing Adyen merchant account to Sparkforge so you can process card transactions on supported channels using Adyen's PCI-compliant infrastructure. It's built for agencies and sub-accounts that need enterprise-grade payment processing across EU/UK, US, and Canada.

What it supports

  • Payment methods: Card payments (credit/debit)
  • Authentication: 3D Secure (3DS)
  • Sparkforge surfaces: Invoices, Payment Links, Stores, Forms/Funnels order forms (where card payments are supported)
  • Regions: EU/UK, United States, Canada
  • Currencies and settlement: Set by Adyen account approval and configuration

Prerequisites

  • Active Adyen merchant account approved for processing (Test and Live)
  • Company API Key for Test and Live environments
  • Live URL Prefix from your Adyen account (Live mode only)
  • Sparkforge Admin access to Payments

The Live URL Prefix is a hex-encoded string that precedes live endpoints (e.g., 1797a841fbb37ca7-MyStore). Find it in your Adyen developer settings.

How to connect Adyen

  1. In your Sparkforge sub-account, go to Payments → Integrations.
  2. Click Connect Adyen.
  3. Toggle Live or Test.
  4. Enter your Company API Key.
  5. (Live only) Paste your Live URL Prefix.
  6. Click Save. A success message confirms the connection.

Test the integration

  1. Use Test mode and Adyen's test card numbers to simulate payments without real charges.
  2. Confirm 3DS prompts trigger as expected.
  3. Switch to Live, add the Live URL Prefix, and run a low-value verification payment.

Refunds and disputes

If refunds are enabled for your account in Sparkforge, issue full or partial refunds from Payments → Transactions or directly from the Invoice. Otherwise, refund from your Adyen dashboard.

Disputes and chargebacks are managed in Adyen. Monitor dispute notifications and provide evidence on Adyen's timelines. Refund timing, fees, and settlement adjustments are determined by Adyen.

FAQ

Can I enable Apple Pay or Google Pay through Adyen?

Not at launch. The integration currently supports card payments only.

Does Sparkforge add transaction fees on top of Adyen?

No. Transactions process under your existing Adyen pricing.

Can I run Stripe and Adyen on the same sub-account?

Yes. Keep multiple gateways connected and pick a Default Provider per channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Sparkforge add extra transaction fees on top of Adyen's pricing?
No. Transactions are processed by Adyen under your existing Adyen pricing. Sparkforge does not charge an additional per-transaction fee for the Adyen integration.
Can I keep both Stripe and Adyen connected to the same sub-account?
Yes. Multiple gateways can stay connected at once. Set a Default Provider per channel to control which processor handles each surface.
What happens if I leave the Live URL Prefix blank in Live mode?
Live transactions will fail. Adyen cannot route the request to the correct live endpoint without the prefix.
Does 3D Secure require any setting in Sparkforge?
No. 3DS challenge flows are handled by Adyen during checkout when required by the card or the issuer.
Are wallets, BNPL, or terminals supported through Adyen?
Not at this release. The current Adyen integration supports credit and debit card payments only. Wallets, BNPL, and physical terminals are on the roadmap.
