How to Create an Affiliate Campaign in Sparkforge

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

In Sparkforge, create an affiliate campaign by picking a source (funnel, site, or store), setting default and product-level commissions, optionally enabling multi-tier payouts, assigning affiliates, and publishing.

An affiliate campaign in Sparkforge ties a source (funnel, website, or store) to a commission structure and a roster of affiliates. Here is how to set one up end to end.

Step 1: Open the campaign builder

Go to Affiliate Manager > Campaigns and click + Add.

Step 2: Choose a campaign source

Select the source that holds the products you want affiliates to promote: a funnel, a website, or an online store.

Step 3: Configure source details

Pick the landing page customers will hit. Sparkforge generates a default campaign URL with the placeholder <<affiliate_id>>, which is replaced automatically with each affiliate's unique ID.

Tracking runs source-wide, not just on the chosen landing page. Funnels, websites, and stores support product-sale commissions. Forms, surveys, and calendars are used for pay-per-lead campaigns instead.

Step 4: Review the product list

Confirm which products from the source are commission-eligible. Add or remove products so the campaign only pays out on what you intend.

Step 5: Set the default commission

Pick a flat fee or a percentage of the product price as the campaign default.

Step 6: Customize product-level commissions (optional)

Override the default for specific products if margins or strategy demand it.

Step 7: Enable multi-tier commissions

Open Advanced Commissions and turn on multi-tier. Sparkforge supports up to seven tiers, so referrers higher up the chain still earn on downline sales.

Step 8: Configure tier-specific commissions

Apply the default rate at every tier or set a custom rate per tier based on the role you want each level of affiliate to play.

Step 9: Add a campaign description (optional)

A short description helps affiliates understand the offer and what they are signing up to promote.

Step 10: Assign affiliates

Review affiliate details (join date, total campaigns) and assign them directly to the campaign.

Step 11: Adjust additional settings

  • Email templates for affiliate onboarding.
  • Cookie duration for referral attribution.
  • Payout terms.
  • Whether setup fees count toward commission calculations.
  • Sub-affiliate sign-ups.
  • Auto-enroll new customers as sub-affiliates.

Step 12: Publish or save as draft

Publish goes live immediately. Save as draft when you still need approvals, copy, or affiliates lined up.

Changing the source on an existing campaign

You can edit the source of a published campaign — useful when the original funnel, website, or store is removed or replaced. Heads up: changing the source generates a new affiliate referral URL. The old URL stops tracking.

After changing the source:

  • Notify all affiliates that referral links have changed.
  • Ask them to update any shared links right away to avoid lost commissions.

Past performance data and other campaign settings are preserved.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many tiers does Sparkforge support in a multi-tier campaign?
Up to seven. You can activate any number from two to seven and set commission rates independently per tier.
What happens if I change the source of a published campaign?
The campaign keeps its history and settings, but the affiliate referral URL changes. The old URL stops tracking, so notify affiliates immediately.
Can I save a campaign without publishing?
Yes. Save as Draft preserves the configuration so you can finish copy, line up affiliates, or get approvals before going live.
Where does the placeholder <<affiliate_id>> in the campaign URL get replaced?
Sparkforge replaces the placeholder automatically with each affiliate's unique ID when their referral link is generated, so every affiliate gets a clean link.
Can the default commission be a flat fee instead of a percentage?
Yes. Pick either a flat fee per sale or a percentage of the product price. You can also override the default at the product level.
