How to Create an Account-Level User Across Multiple Sparkforge Sub-Accounts

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Account-level users get access to specific sub-accounts without seeing agency settings. Set them up under Agency View > Settings > Team by adding a user with User Type set to Account.

Account-level users and admins can manage multiple Sparkforge sub-accounts without seeing the agency dashboard. Useful when a team member needs cross-location access but should not have visibility into agency-wide settings.

Account vs. agency users

  • Agency-level users see and control the entire agency.
  • Account-level users are scoped to the sub-accounts you assign. No agency dashboard, no agency settings.

Why use account-level access

  • Granular per-location permissions.
  • Safer delegation — sensitive agency settings stay hidden.
  • Same user can manage one or many locations.

How to set up an account-level user

  1. Switch to Agency View. Open the location dropdown in the top left and select Switch to Agency View.
  2. Open Settings > Team. In the Agency View sidebar, scroll down to Settings and click the Team tab.
  3. Add or edit a user. Click + Add User, or click the pencil next to an existing user.
  4. Set User Type to Account. Under Roles and Permissions, choose Account. This blocks any agency-level access.
  5. Pick a role. Choose User or Admin. Admins manage most sub-account settings; Users are scoped by per-feature toggles.
  6. Assign locations. Use the search field to add the sub-accounts this user should access.
  7. Configure feature toggles. Adjust the per-feature switches as needed.
  8. Save. The user gets an invite email automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one user manage more than one location?
Yes. When assigning sub-accounts on the user record, you can select as many locations as you need.
What's the difference between an Account User and an Account Admin?
Account Admins can manage most settings inside their assigned sub-accounts. Account Users are scoped by individual feature toggles, so they can be limited to specific areas like Conversations or Calendars.
Can I promote an Account User to Admin later?
Yes. Edit the user under Settings > Team and switch the User Role from User to Admin.
Can an Account User see the Agency Dashboard?
No. Setting User Type to Account blocks all agency-level access. Only sub-accounts you assign are visible.
Does the user get an invite email?
Yes. Saving the user record sends an invite to the email address you set, prompting them to log in to the assigned sub-accounts.
