How to Configure SMS Compliance Settings in Sparkforge
Sparkforge SMS Compliance Settings auto-append opt-out language and sender identification on outbound SMS, and re-insert them every 1-60 days. Enable both toggles in Settings > Phone Numbers > Messaging to stay carrier-compliant.
SMS Compliance Settings make sure outbound texts include sender identification and opt-out language so carriers do not filter your messages. The first message in any conversation always includes both, and the recurring cadence re-inserts them on a schedule you choose.
What These Settings Do
- Opt-out language — appends a phrase like Reply STOP to unsubscribe when missing.
- Sender identification — appends a brand line like Thanks, Alex at Main Street Dental when missing.
- Periodic re-insertion — re-adds both lines every 1-60 days on long conversations.
- De-duplication — does not add a second opt-out line if your template already contains one.

Defaults and Behavior
- New sub-accounts: SMS compliance is enabled by default.
- Existing sub-accounts: disabled by default; enable manually.
- First message: sender info and opt-out language always appear on the first outbound message in a conversation, even if periodic insertion is off.
- Trial mode and new locations: agencies in trial mode and sub-accounts under 15 days old cannot disable these toggles. Account Users and Admins also cannot disable them.
How Smart Detection Works
Sparkforge only suppresses re-insertion when it detects a complete opt-out phrase. Standalone words inside normal sentences do not trigger suppression.
Phrases that suppress insertion:
- Reply STOP to unsubscribe.
- Text STOP to opt out.
- Reply STOP to end.
Does not suppress: If this time does not work, stop by tomorrow.
Carrier-Compliant Opt-Out Keywords
STOP, STOPALL, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, QUIT.
Sender ID Examples
- Thanks, Jamie at Oak & Co.
- Team Acme Fitness
Avoid spammy formatting, excessive emojis, URL shorteners, and vague brand references — these increase carrier filtering risk.
