How to Create, Sell, Send, and Redeem Gift Cards in Sparkforge
Sparkforge Gift Cards let you create branded digital cards, sell them via dedicated checkouts or your existing funnels and stores, send no-payment cards to contacts for promotions, and track every issuance under Gift Card Orders.
Sparkforge Gift Cards run inside the Payments section. Create branded products with custom denominations, sell through a dedicated checkout or your existing funnels and stores, send no-payment cards to contacts, and track every issued card from one dashboard.
What you can do with Gift Cards
- Create gift card products with branding, denominations, expiry, and terms.
- Sell from a dedicated checkout, embedded on your site, via QR code, or inside existing checkouts.
- Send gift cards directly to contacts with no payment — useful for promotions, service recovery, or VIP perks.
- Track every issued card from the Gift Card Orders page.
- Let customers redeem on supported checkouts with automatic balance display.
Prerequisites
- Access to Payments → Gift Cards.
- At least one Gift Card Product created.
- Active checkouts: Forms, Funnels, Payment Links, Invoices, Store, or Calendars.
- Optional: artwork and terms & conditions.
Create a gift card product
- Open Payments → Gift Cards.
- Click + Create Gift Card.
- Add basic information: name, description, terms, expiry date, redemption-instructions URL.
- Customize the artwork — choose a gradient or upload a high-resolution image.
- Set values, tax, and category. Add denominations (for example $25, $50, $100), set quantity, optionally enable taxes, and assign a category.
- Review and click Create Gift Card.
Inventory note
Inventory applies per denomination. A quantity of 100 across two denominations means 100 of each, totaling 200 cards.
Edit, archive, or deactivate
- Edit denomination, inventory, terms, expiry, category, or tax. Changes apply to future issuances.
- Archive products you no longer use.
- Deactivate to disable Sell and Send actions and stop the dedicated checkout. Note: if the gift card was added as a product to other checkouts, those keep selling until you remove it manually.
- Activate to re-enable.
Sell through the dedicated checkout
- Open Payments → Gift Cards.
- On the gift card tile, click Sell.
- Copy the live-mode checkout link or copy the embed code for an external page.
Buyer experience
- Select a denomination.
- Choose Myself or Someone Else. For "Someone Else," the checkout collects recipient name, recipient email, sender name, and sender email.
- Pick Deliver Now or schedule for a future date and time. Add an optional message.
- Complete payment. Buyer can download the card. If buying for someone else, the recipient receives it at the chosen time.
Live-mode cards redeem on live checkouts; test-mode cards redeem on test checkouts.
Send gift cards (no payment)
Use Send to issue a free gift card — ideal for loyalty, service recovery, or internal tests.
- Open Payments → Gift Cards.
- Click Send on the gift card tile.
- Pick an existing contact or add one. Add a personal message — the Write with AI option drafts one for you.
- Choose a denomination and delivery method: Email, SMS, QR via Email, or PDF via Email. Optionally schedule the send.
- Review the auto-generated email or SMS preview — amount, message, expiry, redemption instructions, artwork — and click Send Gift Card.
Sent cards appear under Gift Card Orders. They do not show on the regular Payments → Orders page because no payment occurred.
Track gift card orders
All issued cards — sold or sent — are listed under Payments → Gift Cards → Gift Card Orders. Each row shows status, balance, denomination, and contact details. Click a row for the full order detail.
