Add Manual Sales for an Affiliate in Sparkforge Workflows

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Add Manual Sales for an Affiliate workflow action assigns sales to a specific affiliate and campaign and calculates commissions from the campaign's default settings. It works with or without URL attribution, so offline, phone, and recurring sales all get tracked.

Not every sale comes through a tracked checkout. Phone orders, offline subscriptions, and reward-based commissions still need to land on an affiliate's record. The Add Manual Sales for an Affiliate workflow action handles that.

What the action does

Assigns a sale to a chosen affiliate inside a chosen campaign. Once the action runs, Sparkforge calculates the commission from the campaign's default commission settings and credits the affiliate.

Use cases

1. Recurring manual commissions

For subscriptions or services billed outside Sparkforge, schedule a workflow that adds a manual sale each cycle so the affiliate keeps earning.

2. Offline and phone sales

Capture sales taken over the phone or in-person and attribute them to the affiliate who referred the customer.

3. Reward-based commissions

Pay an affiliate for non-monetary contributions — training attendance, lead quality, referrals — by adding a manual sale in the amount you want to reward.

Setup with attribution tracking

  1. Add the Add Manual Sales for an Affiliate action to your workflow.
  2. Toggle AUTO-TRACK AFFILIATE VIA ATTRIBUTION on. Sparkforge will read the affiliate ID from the URL and assign the sale automatically.
  3. Select the affiliate campaign from the dropdown.
  4. Enter revenue and any optional details — event date, transaction ID.
  5. Save the action.

How attribution chooses the affiliate

  • First Attribution: the first time the contact interacted with your system (for example, a form fill).
  • Latest Attribution: the most recent interaction (for example, a checkout). Latest updates with every new session; First stays fixed.

Setup without attribution tracking

  1. Add the Add Manual Sales for an Affiliate action.
  2. Pick the affiliate campaign. The affiliate dropdown will show only partners enrolled in that campaign.
  3. Pick the affiliate.
  4. Enter revenue and optional details — event date, transaction ID.
  5. Save the action.

When to use which mode

  • With attribution: the contact already came through an affiliate link and you want the system to find the right affiliate.
  • Without attribution: you know exactly which affiliate gets credit (offline order, manual reward, recurring assignment).

Frequently Asked Questions

How are commissions calculated when I add a manual sale?
Sparkforge applies the campaign's default commission settings to the revenue you enter. Override the default by editing the campaign's commission rules.
Can I credit a sale to an affiliate who is not in the campaign?
No. The affiliate dropdown only lists partners enrolled in the chosen campaign. Add them to the campaign first, then run the action.
Do manual sales count toward affiliate payouts?
Yes. They show up in the affiliate's commission balance and pay out the same way as automatic sales.
What is the difference between First and Latest attribution?
First captures the affiliate from the contact's first interaction (a form, a page visit). Latest captures the affiliate from the most recent session and updates over time.
Can I use this action for offline sales?
Yes. Phone orders, in-person purchases, and any sale outside Sparkforge can be credited by running the action without attribution and entering the revenue.
