ACH Bank Transfer Support on NMI in Sparkforge
ACH on NMI in Sparkforge takes up to 5 business days to settle. Recurring invoices need a saved bank account from a prior invoice payment, and NMI webhooks must be enabled for status updates.
ACH (bank transfer) payments on NMI run through Sparkforge invoices. Below are the most common operator questions about settlement, recurring use, and webhook setup.
Settlement timing
ACH transfers can take up to 5 business days to reach a final status, depending on the payer's bank. The transaction sits in processing until the bank confirms. Best practice: deliver work or service only after the payment status changes to Success.
Enabling ACH on invoices
If ACH is enabled in Labs but the option is not appearing on invoices, confirm ACH is also enabled on the NMI side of the integration. If the issue persists, contact Sparkforge support.
Recurring invoices and subscriptions
In the current V1 release, recurring invoices and subscriptions can only start with a bank account that has already been saved. To save a bank account, collect a one-time payment through an invoice first. Once saved, the bank account is available for recurring debits going forward.
NMI webhook configuration
NMI must send settlement and payment status events back to Sparkforge. In your NMI dashboard, enable the required webhooks pointing to:
https://backend.sparkforgehq.com/payments/nmi/webhook
Refer to NMI's webhook setup documentation for the full list of supported events. Settlement and payment status events are the minimum required for invoice status to update correctly inside Sparkforge.
