The Product Access Granted trigger fires the moment a customer is given access to a product, course, or membership. Use it to send onboarding emails, tag the contact, and kick off any follow-up workflow.

The Product Access Granted workflow trigger fires the moment a customer gains access to a specific product — a course, digital download, membership, or subscription. Use it to automate onboarding, update CRM records, and route customers into the right post-purchase sequence.

What this trigger does

When a contact is granted access to a product you select, Sparkforge enrolls them in the workflow. From there you can send a welcome email, deliver login details, add tags, notify a team member, or branch into different sequences based on which product they unlocked.

Why use it

  • Automate onboarding. Send the welcome email, instructions, and first-step links without lifting a finger.
  • Keep the CRM accurate. Tag and segment customers the second access is granted.
  • Personalize by product. Filter by specific products so each cohort gets the right message.
  • Hand off cleanly. Notify support or success teams when high-value products are accessed.

Configure the trigger

  1. Go to Automation and open or create the workflow.
  2. Click Add New Trigger and choose Product Access Granted.
  3. Name the trigger something specific, like Onboarding — Course A.
  4. Under filters, pick the product that should fire the workflow.
  5. Click Save, then run a test with a sample contact.
  6. Toggle Publish on once the test confirms the workflow fires correctly.

Use cases

Welcome email for an online course

Filter on the course product. Send a welcome email with login info, the first lesson link, and a short orientation video.

Tag VIP content access

Filter on the VIP product. Tag the contact, add them to a content-update list, and trigger a different nurture sequence than your general list.

Event ticket confirmation

Filter on the event ticket product. Send the join link, schedule, and any pre-event prep so attendees show up ready.

Upsell from the basic plan

Filter on your entry-level product. After a delay, send an email with premium upgrade options the contact has now earned.

Notes and limits

The trigger fires every time access is granted — if a customer is granted access to the same product twice, the workflow runs twice. Use cooldown periods or workflow conditions to prevent duplicate emails.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one workflow handle multiple products?
Yes. Add multiple products to the filter or leave the filter broad to fire on any product, then branch inside the workflow with conditions.
What happens if the same product is granted twice?
The trigger fires each time. Add a cooldown or a condition that checks for an existing tag before sending follow-ups.
Can I combine this with other triggers?
Yes. Pair it with Tag Added, Form Submission, or Order Submitted triggers to build multi-entry workflows.
Can different teams be notified based on product?
Yes. Use If/Else conditions inside the workflow to route notifications to specific users or teams based on the product.
