How to Set Up the Prospect Generated Workflow Trigger

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

The Prospect Generated trigger fires when a new prospect is created in the Sparkforge Prospecting Tool, whether in-app, through an embedded widget, or via Prospect AI. Filter by source and conversion rate to drive automated follow-up.

The Prospect Generated trigger runs a Sparkforge workflow whenever a new prospect lands in the Prospecting Tool. Use it to assign prospects to pipelines, send first-touch emails or SMS, alert sales, and tag records based on source and conversion likelihood.

What the Trigger Does

It activates when a new prospect is generated in any of three ways:

  • In-app: a user manually creates a prospect inside the Prospecting Tool.
  • Widget: a prospect is captured through an embedded widget on your site.
  • Prospect AI: a prospect is generated automatically by Prospect AI.

You can filter by source and by conversion rate so the workflow runs only for the prospects worth automating against.

Where to Find the Trigger

Open the Workflow Builder and pick Prospect Generated from the trigger list.

Configure the Workflow

Step 1: Add the Trigger

  1. Click Create Workflow or open an existing one.
  2. In the trigger panel, select Prospect Generated.

Step 2: Apply Filters

Filters narrow the trigger to the prospects you actually want to automate against.

  • Prospect Source: In-App, Widget, or Prospect AI. Useful when you want different follow-up for inbound widget prospects vs. team-entered records.
  • Conversion Rate: segment by likelihood to close. Run high-intent prospects through a personal outreach sequence; route low-intent prospects into a longer nurture.

Step 3: Map Prospect Details to Actions

Common automated actions:

  • Assign the prospect to a sales pipeline stage.
  • Send a welcome email or SMS using merge fields from the prospect record.
  • Notify a sales team member about high-conversion prospects.
  • Tag and categorize prospects by industry, niche, or campaign.

Step 4: Save and Test

  1. Save the workflow.
  2. Generate a test prospect (in-app and through your widget) and confirm the actions fire as expected.
  3. Adjust filters or actions if a path doesn’t behave the way you want.

Example: Widget Prospects with High Conversion

You want every widget-generated prospect to receive a welcome email and want sales to be alerted about high-conversion ones.

  • Trigger: Prospect Generated
  • Filters: Source = Widget, Conversion Rate > 70%
  • Actions: send personalized welcome email, then notify the assigned sales rep.

Result: every widget prospect gets first-touch outreach instantly, and high-intent leads jump to the top of the rep’s queue.
