Find a Business Maps URL for a Virtual Business

By Sparkforge Support Team ·Last reviewed May 3, 2026

Service-area businesses still need a Google Business Profile. Open your listing in Google Maps, copy the URL from the address bar or the Share button, and paste it into the Sparkforge Prospecting Tool's Business Maps URL field.

Sparkforge's Prospecting Tool uses your Business Maps URL to generate accurate reports for service-area or virtual businesses without a storefront. The URL anchors the report to the right Google Business Profile.

Step 1: Confirm your Google listing

  1. Go to Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) and sign in.
  2. If you haven't already, add your business and verify it as a service-area business.

Step 2: Find your listing on Google Maps

  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Search your business name.
  3. Click your business in the results.

Step 3: Copy the Business Maps URL

Method A — Address bar

With your listing open, copy the URL from the browser's address bar. It looks like:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Your+Business+Name/@XX.XXXXXX,-YY.YYYYYY,17z/data=...

Method B — Share button

  1. Click Share on your business listing.
  2. Click Copy link in the popup.

Step 4: Paste into the Prospecting Tool

  1. Open the Prospecting Tool in Sparkforge.
  2. Choose Search for Virtual Businesses.
  3. Paste the URL into the Business Maps URL field.
  4. Fill in the rest of the form and submit.

The Prospecting Tool now anchors the report to your verified service-area listing rather than guessing from a name match, which produces noticeably more accurate results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a virtual business need a Business Maps URL?
Service-area businesses share names with storefronts, so the Prospecting Tool needs the exact Maps URL to lock onto the correct Google Business Profile and avoid bad matches.
Where do I find the URL on Google Maps?
Either copy it directly from your browser's address bar after opening the listing, or click Share on the listing and choose Copy link.
What if my business isn't on Google yet?
Add and verify it on Google Business Profile first. Service-area businesses are an explicit option during setup.
Does this affect report accuracy?
Yes. Pasting the verified Maps URL into the Business Maps URL field is what makes Prospecting Tool reports accurate for service-area businesses.
Can I use a shortened Google Maps URL?
Yes. The link copied from the Share button is the recommended format and works the same as the full URL from the address bar.
