Frequently Asked Questions

Can I include merge fields in templates?
Yes. Standard merge fields like {{contact.first_name}} work inside both SMS and email templates.
Are templates shared across sub-accounts?
No. Templates live inside the sub-account where they were created. Use Snapshots if you want to seed templates into new sub-accounts.
Can I use the same template for SMS and email?
No — SMS and email templates are separate types. SMS supports plain text only; email supports HTML and design blocks.
How do templates differ from saved replies?
Templates are reusable across workflows, campaigns, and conversations. Saved replies are typically scoped to inbox replies only — templates are the broader, more flexible primitive.
